Big long one for anyone who likes that sort of thing! But we go most of the way from start to finish in making a shot, and cover quite a bit of ground! Mostly just straightforward cube modeling, though :D

Only 1 hour long?? Well... we'll take what we get. :P

A long video? Yes :D. Count me in!

Kills me that you don't use the "Screw" modifier for the sign post and the hangar. Fun modeling workflow though!

Great job as always Ian! Love it!

I love these videos

Please post more of these! Even if it's just you modeling and mumbling without being as formal 🙂

i could watch these as if they were a tv series. Loved it

How do you switch the axis constraint of your scales and transforms so fast? I'm checking the screen cast keys overlay and I don't see any keys being pressed when you switch the axis. Also do you have any special mouse setup or something like that. Thanks! https://youtu.be/arnA3Nti_-w?t=881

This is awesome

This is my favorite kind of Ian content. Your ability to continue working on these things even if you're not sure if it's going to look good is something I try to remember when I'm hating my project and have the impulse to close without saving. Thx for that.

Total banger, an hour of thorough enjoyment.

This was a very cozy quality hour inside of Ian's creative brain. Love it. Listening to you think out loud how to solve modelling problems is better than tutorials that just tell me to do one thing after another. You often come up with very simple tricks that inspire me to try things in Blender that I found intimidating before.

just awesome

This was awesome, I was using, Bing Image Creator to create concept art style sheet, AN the you dropped this today, I am meant to make this, lol.

If your bored try Bing Image creator to make textures. The only downsides i have found are, is that it tries to give them some sort of direction lighting, and the texture size is 1024x 1024, you also have to be relatively lucky to get a seamless texture too. But you can get some cool results too....yeah, just a thought. The patreon is awesome too.

Love this stuff... Always educational and fun.

Try gravity sketch, for VR modeling.. its really well though out. And a professional modeling tool.. Glenn southern has some brilliant videos on it… https://youtu.be/5L2GiXQ4TRM

Don't forget some tables and chairs for the restaurant patio :) Maybe a staunch maitre d?

I really loved this one

Anonymous

This was great, reminds me of the old vids just good old modeling, helps with learning the thought process for shots like this

Anonymous

Phenomenal, love these vids where you work on an entire scene

I became a patron to see if you had more lazy tutorials or tutorials in general on here. I was not expecting an additional 119. May will be spent practicing the 22 on your YT channel. June I start on these. And expect me to stay at least until I burn through every last one of them

someone knows wich setup Ian use to make good render in cycles?

Noah Hitz

thank you, this is exactly the sort of thing i like :)

Awesome video. I think you underestimate how long of videos your audience will watch of you just modeling like normal. I always see comments asking for videos of your regular workflow, and I agree that of unedited videos of your workflow would be valuable. Don’t feel like you have to make every video ‘entertaining enough’ for us! Keep it up :)

Just catching up, I have been busy with work... This video is fantastic, i love seeing the build progression and hearing your thought process.

I love the idea of modelling in VR but it's a good point that Blender is made for a full keyboard. I wonder if something like the Tap Strap 2 wearable keyboard could help solve that problem for modelling in VR
