Yeah could be that (maybe) but is not sure thing since its a reboot but if you followed some of mshrinker past stories. For them to become a witch they have to kill the people they shrunk and then they got transported to a special artefact. Also because the girl either joins the witches or she is shrunk killed too. ( but like i said since these is a reboot maybe it will be different these time🤷🏻‍♂️)

I do think there will be a necklace or something involved after rereading. The phrase "you want to keep living with that body" seems to be a odd way to word it unless there is an alternative like what has happened in the other spellbook stuff.
