You should let Patreons ask Qs here instead of hoping they get upvoted on Reddit. 'Cause we pay for the privilege!

Why the filtering out of Hello Internet. People are curious :(

Orion Dye

Yep, the best way to filter questions is by a popularity contest. Because most people who don’t care enough about you or your channel to invest in it should have the final say in what questions you answer. As it should be.

CGPG explicitly tells people to not donate if they aren't financially able, regardless of how much they love his channel. Check your privilege

Orion Dye

What exactly does people being financially able or not to donate have to do with what i said. Check your reading comprehension.

What happened to Indian reservations beyond the initial video?

Patrick W. Gilmore

OddOod: While there are people who would like to contribute (i.e. be here on Patreon) but cannot, there is no one here who does not support Mr. Grey. There is no way to perfectly select ALL the strong supporters - but ONLY those supporters. We are a subset of the most ardent supporters. While people on Reddit are a subset of all his supporters - plus people who do not support Mr. Grey or the channel. There are some supporters who do not have Reddit. Also, someone can up/down vote a Q on Reddit without having seen a single CGP Grey video.

Patrick W. Gilmore

To be clear, I am not suggesting you remove the Reddit poll. My suggestion is that you read the (ridiculously small number of) questions posted here, in addition to the top Reddit voted questions.

I just realized I subscribed before I lost my job, and still have an active subscription, how quaint. <3 what you do and can't wait to see what questions you end up answering. Thank you for having yearly options for subscribing, I will be employed again in time to subscribe it looks like! Can't wait for April Fools this year.

We get other perks. I don't mind not getting preferential access when it comes to Q&As. Plus, managing two separate sets of questions with different priority levels sounds like a headache.

Idly wondering: if the thread is open until the Q&A goes up, how will you choose which questions make the cut? Will it just be the top voted ones that catch your eye as we near 1 billion?

Is there anything we can do to make Hello Internet come back? Or anything like it? A variety show with a friend? Cortex is too 'worky' to be a replacement.

Patrick W. Gilmore

It is just a suggestion. Not canceling my patreon if he does not or anything. As for two sets, let's be honest, he is likely to get 5-10 questions here. Literally a thousand times more on Reddit.
