This is the version of The Art of Editing and The Snowman that was originally uploaded Friday afternoon before being instantly blocked worldwide by a copyright claim from Universal.

Earlier this morning the video's status was upgraded from "blocked" to "in dispute", which means that the video is, for the time being, at least viewable.

Since it already took me 11 hours of making and uploading fifteen alternate versions to get a copy of the video cleared through Content ID I'm going to leave that version as the "official" version of the video, but given the content of the channel I figure at least a dozen people would be interested in seeing the almost microscopic scope of the individual changes that needed to be made to get this through Content ID.

This was, by far, the worst run in I've personally had with Content ID, not for scope or severity but for sheer aggression. I tend to have a good eye for what the system will flag and on average need to deal with between zero and one claim on any given video, most of which I'm able to fix between the preview and the final video.

In this case there was an entire small sequence that needed to be excised because even reducing it to a literal slide show with on-screen arrows and text it was still getting flagged. This was the cause of the misplaced captions some of you noticed, as I finished writing the captions while this version was still uploading.

Sorry this happened to you. It looks like a lot of work went into that video.

Oh man, this sucks. I'm sorry this happened to you. Guess I'll just have to watch it for the *cough*third*cough* time. Okay, listen, once way by myself and the other with my husband because I wanted him to be wtf-ing everywhere. I believe at point he did actually say wtf. I feel like it's almost silly to say it cause I kind of feel like the above does it, but this was an awesome video and my husband and I both I really enjoyed it.

Have you joined/thought about joining any content producer unions? What is your prefered video host?
