GIGAN

ガイガン

The Cyborg Space Monster

"You always said that you'd never let the Ultra's take advantage of you and steal your power. And yet you were stupid enough not to see through Belial's obvious deceptions! What happened to the intelligent creature who freed me from the Space Hunters and the Ghidorah I was enslaved to?!"

Gigan was once the ultimate weapon of the M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens, a creature they enslaved since he was a child, always modifying him and gradually turning into a deadly cyborg slave.

Gigan and King Ghidorah were sent by their masters to assault the base of a young upstart Kaiju who over time had slowly established a power base over a few systems with a few followers. The young upstart, the "SpaceGodzilla" Ririn, did not take kindly to their assault and repelled them despite them taking him by surprise. Gigan and Ghidorah shocked at the youngsters power.

Hoping to regroup after retreating, they did not expect the young SpaceGodzilla to pursue them and attack them relentlessly with Hedorah. They however managed to escape, Gigan violently blinding Ririn in his left eye not before Ririn chopped off one of Ghidorah's heads, enraging the three headed dragon who proceeded to lash out at Gigan. The Space Hunter Aliens ordered them to take out the SpaceGodzilla’s base, however once they launched a second attack found the base completely abandoned except for Orga who’s endurance and power was enough to distract them before they realised what was going on.

Upon returning to the Space Hunter’s primary base they found it in ruins and the Space Hunters fleeing after Ririn had attacked them alongside Hedorah and commandeered the MechaGodzilla they had stolen from the Black Hole Aliens, sending it out to fight the returning Ghidorah and Gigan. The Ghidorah cowardly fled after MechaGodzilla decapitated another head but not before Ghidorah had badly mangled Ririn’s right leg, severely injuring him.

Grateful for having been freed from the Space Hunter’s control, Gigan offered to help the injured and bleeding Crystal Godzilla. Although his companions were suspicious of Gigan, they did not have much choice as Ririn was bleeding out. Gigan managed to give Ririn a cybernetic leg in place of his old one with the technology the Space Hunter’s left behind.

Gigan pledged his allegiance to Ririn and over many years became his closest companion and best friend, knowing the SpaceGodzilla’s deepest secrets and past, something he did not share with anyone, not even his son, Obsidious.

When the Ultraman Belial approached and offered Ririn power and allegencie to his now vast Empire that rivaled the Land of Light’s reach, Gigan was immediately suspicious of how Ririn did not show any hesitation or second thought into accepting the deal, Gigan suspecting that Belial was influencing and corrupting Ririn in subtle ways. His suspicion spread to Jirass and the Red King that had recently joined before Belial’s deal thinking that they had somehow drugged or altered Ririn in a way to make him susceptible to manipulation.

Present day Ririn has gone mad from the pain Belial’s armour is inflicting on him as it forcibly fuses with his body. After retreating into his fortress after being confronted by Ultraman Geed and Zero, Gigan goes to try and help Ririn with Obsidious but finds the Crystal King writhing in pain and his body almost completely mutated into a weird unnatural form that looks like Belial’s infamous Arch Belial form. Gigan tries to reach out to Ririn but the SpaceGodzilla can’t physically respond, only able to plead for Gigan to help him telepathically.

Gigan attempts to help him but Belial appears and blasts him away from Ririn who’s body has now become a helpless puppet to the Ultra, despite Ririn’s mind being fully intact and aware. Belial had wanted Ririn to become another addition to the Darkness Five, thus retaining his power and a hold over a large majority of Kaiju in the galaxy, however Ririn had proven too stubborn and too individualistic to prove an effective member. Ririn retorts that he refuses to be a slave to any Ultra only for Belial to laugh at him and force him to attack Gigan. Gigan refuses to fight Ririn and evades the controlled Ririn.

Belial then proceeds to demonstrate his power to Gigan and the Ultraman Geed and Zero, ordering Ririn to kill his son Obsidious. Belial notes that Ririn’s strong mindedness might break if he was forced to kill his only heir and the only remaining member of his family he knows of. Ririn’s body goes to kill the boy and despite Ririn’s telepathic screams to run the boy stays put, not understanding what’s happening.

Legendary Godzilla has split away from travelling with Shin Gojira to SpaceGodzilla’s base and is now heading to help Anguirus who has confronted an alien robot who looks like a Mecha version of himself.

Yoroi Godzilla and Shin Gojira are closing in on Japan, Shin swimming around the coast and Yoroi making his way across lands and towns much to the dismay of Prime Minister Yaguchi and everyone else living in his path.
