Hi, hi, hi. Back again with another questionnaire lolol. A couple weeks ago, I got this comment:

And thought it was such a genius idea. I've also often wondered what makes bad writing, especially since we all have different definitions.

Sometimes I'm willing to read bad prose if I think the story itself is great. But I just cannot handle poor storytelling or lazy character building cop-outs. To me, that's "bad writing."

So after a bit of thinking, I finally made a questionnaire that I thiiiiiiink encompasses everything.

However! 500 brains are better than one, and I was wondering if y'all could:

(1) take the questionnaire, if you'd like!

(2) let me know if you think any questions should be ADDED.

I try to keep these from being too lengthy, but would love any/all suggestions (or points of clarity) before I roll this out to the whole channel audience.

(Also, my point in having people submit examples isn't to put particular authors or novels on blast. I'm just curious if there will be repeat "offenders" that people share, like some of the old gems found over on r/menwritingwomen.)

Thanks everyone!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

As the one who left that comment, I was pleasantly surprised to see this post! I filled out the form, and I honestly can't wait to see the results!

Honestly, I thought of plenty of examples of "bad writing" but I felt too bad for calling out the authors so I gave an example from a recent movie that sort of encompasses everything that makes me angry about bad writing.

I totally understand!! I felt weird asking the question too because I wasn't sure how to share results, so I'll probably tiptoe around things. Your movie example is perfect to not step on toes!
