Core gameplay.

Commentary

"Hero? Hero. There's a main quest to get on with, hero."

"Perhaps a side quest? There are quite a few. They're mostly taking out bandits, but there's occasional unique dialogue? No?"

"Ooh, you can also SIDE with bandits! You don't like farmers, right? You do like farmers? I guess that's natural. They do provide food for everyone. Sort of self-defeating to attack them, thinking long term."

"Right. I'll just read through all the item flavor text again."

I'm suddenly expecting Susan to pull a Susan Sarandon and do the Touch Me musical number from Rocky Horror at this rate

Andrea Andrew

I love how the main storyline is doing all it can to try and reinforce why Susan and Elliot can’t be together yet, and this side comic is doing the exact opposite.

Yes, it does seem she is playing with his core muscles, indeed. I see what you did there.

I recall what Captain Hammer in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" said after denying that his name refers to his fists....

Is it wrong that I love Touchy-feely Susan and completely oblivious blacksmith? (also,it really does look like he's only wearing an apron lol)

Some Ed

No. Um, it looks to me like he's also wearing a belt and gloves. Gloves are pretty important for a blacksmith to wear, so it's probably a good thing he has a pair. I would also guess he's probably wearing footwear of some kind. I'd guess some kind of low-profile boot, as that seems to be what everybody else is wearing. It's probably not steel-reinforced. That's probably not good; he's a blacksmith, so he's likely to be working with a lot of heavy things. The chances of any one of them falling on his feet is probably pretty low, but the aggregate chance is absurdly high. I've heard one modern blacksmith claim that the chance in his shop, *after* taking all of the feasible steps to improve worker safety, was roughly 250% per employee annually. As such, protective footwear was required for everyone who entered the shop proper. Edit: he's an armor/weapon smith. The chance that he's going to be working with heavy and sometimes pointy things is absurdly high. One might even go so far as to say it's guaranteed. He really needs better footwear.

I might be wrong here, but I imagine Susan's eyes would be aimed a bit, er, lower, in the last panel if the apron were the only thing he was wearing.

Foradain

We haven't seen his footwear yet, AFAIK. But if they aren't unobtanium-toed boots, I'll agree he could be better protected.

Mark

Is Susan sniffing him?

Jon Krupp

I think we can all agree about big hammers.

ZekeStaright

Susan does Love her Big Hammers.

"I know that reference!"

Love that third panel. Nice to see another side to Susan.

For some reason, I can only think of Nathan Fillian as Captain Hammer, holding up his fists, "...and these are not the hammer."
