They now read as follows:
  • 4k - The "Dan's choice" becomes either a comic page, or a single image with multiple variants (outfits and/or forms). If the latter, will be either at 1 character with 5 variants, 2 characters with 3 variants, or 3 characters with 2 variants. Note that these are minimums (could be more), and each variant is per character.

  • 5k - The "Dan's choice" becomes two. Either two comics, two images, or a comic and an image. Single images have same character / variant count options as in previous milestone.

These changes will apply to the round of images at the end of this month, so there'll still be Dan's Choice comics for previous months. That, and comics remain on the table. I just have other options now.

As for the single image with variants, an example of the one character with five variants would be a single image of Ellen, but with five versions with different outfits and/or modified forms.

"Variants" count when redrawing is required, and do not include simple palette swaps or just adding a bit of lipstick.

For example, Goonmanji 100 has four different versions of the comic, but I would only consider it three "Variants", as the fourth version is just the third version with blonde hair, lipstick, and slightly different dialogue. That's nifty and all, but not enough to be a fourth "Variant" under the rules I'm setting for this.

More freedom and variety sounds awesome to me!

Sounds good, I've always liked seeing image variants and Goonmanji has only helped that. And having three people in a bonus image can make everything more interesting. :)

Both variants and variety are fun... I wonder if you have any fans who can make 'paper doll' style games out of a set of variant images.

Start with a simple version, then work our way up to full Goonmanji? (With extra characters/cards available as DLC...)
