I think the premise for this one is how would a sexy Pokemon Researcher like Sonia would likely earn a little on the side to afford travelling around the world. Those travel fares, lodgings, food isn't going to to be paid otherwise~

Or maybe this is her way of dealing with obnoxious Pokemon Trainers that pop out of thick bushes to ambush people into a Pokemon Battle.
