THIS IS I-LAND EPISODE 4.
*FYI*: While reacting to these episodes I will ALWAYS remain honest with you and share my raw opinions about the show & contestants. If you agree or disagree, this is what the comment section is for! :) We ALL have different POV's and I'm sure some of you will end up disagreeing with me at some point as the show goes on. Voices, performances, people, and/or songs that may appeal to you may not appeal to me. But I will never try to appeal to *popular opinions*  and I will continue to share & stick to my genuine feelings on the spot. However, as  *first reaction* to these scenes, my feelings tend to change over time as I re-watch episodes on my own and see details I haven't caught before. Thank you!

I just binged all of your reactions and as soon as I finished the last one you posted another 😊 this episode had me in tears, I can’t wait for the new episode because I feel like both of the dance units are evenly matched. And heeseung and geonu singing butterfly..... so beautiful.

So I think both performances were performed beautifully but I also think for the vocal competition they should have done the same song. I think it would have been a more equal competition. WIth Butterfly and Save Me they both have completely different feels, where Butterfly is vocally more challenging than Save Me but Save Me had the better choreography (Just my opinion). But vocally, I think the I-landers did slightly better. Heeseung made me lose my breathe when he first sang butterfly with Geonu behind him with the smooth beautiful vocals, that honestly made me notice him even more.

I am crying all over again - poor K and feel so bad for Sunoo. When he took Taki's hand - he's so special and yes, I understand how you feel about Seon.

Exactly. Butterfly was more about emotion playing with expression so hands down I-LANDER did better. Grounders did amazing 💜. Fighting for Sunghoon and Jungwon 🌻

I cried when i first watched this ep and i cried again this time also, this show has really drawn me in, i usually don't watch shows like these because i get to attached its already happened and its to late to go back. I can't wait to watch the next episodes with you.💜

I loved this episode ik so much tears but also for me I loved the vocals ! Geonu Heesung and Sunoo are my top 3 so it was heaven. Daniel did well alsoo but wow I can now say with confidence if and hopefully when they debut and Geonu and Heesung are in group they will be Main Vocals for suree!! I cant stop watching that performance. And I was so happy to hear Sunoo sing he was so confident and im happy! K is climbing up too he is so kind and it hurt to see what happen to Taki but if he is meant to come back he will I know Ground sucks but it can only benefit him if he looks at it that way. I saw some of the i land cams and Kyungmin is such a soft cutie i want to see more of him and I liked Taeyong voice last ep i hope i see more of him too.. I think Daniel and Ej relationship is so cute ikk u don't really have much thoughts about Ej but they are really close and its really sweet to watch them whenever they were together🥺. Im so excited for the dancing!!! Like ahhhhh both groups! I dont know I feel like i land has majority potential debuting applicatants so idk if i want ground to win and i land to lose 6 people but alsooo ground 😭😭 its hard to watch sometimes when u get attached to guys in both i land and ground. I hope they do some rapping too in next ep because once the voting starts I think it will only be 12 applications left and then part 2 of the show will be determining final line up which means unknown number of members prob won't be 12 knowing bighit so idkk 😭 im liking more of the guyss but also im not sure how this 2nd part of show will work we will see. I hope next ep we see more of other guys skills !! Thanks for ur reaction cant wait for ep 5 with u!!!

Heeseung is all around and like you he reminds me so much of JK in his delivery and power. He literally simmers and then pours his heart out and lets face it he is the most well rounded with everything you could dream of in a superstar Idol. Daniel and sweet Sunoo together singing Save Me in front of PDOGG - their performance was so moving exactly like Bangtan - I am so happy! The fact that Sunghoon got pulled in to the final trio - yay! Like I said before, he reminds me of SUGA, quiet, but so consistent and strong. Jungwon's dancing - he is a super star. Thank you, my dear for forming this I-Land community -you are wonderful.

I (actually my entire group chat) already have a pretty solid idea of who we want in the Top 12 (and tbh if you pay attention to the show it's incredibly obvious at least the majority who will be in Top 12, these "survival" shows always kinda have a set lineup they push). And based on everything in eps 1 - 4, my choices are: Jay (leader--he has shown on multiple occasions that he has AMAZING leadership qualities. I know you say Heeseung but I actually have to disgree about him being a good leader. I think that is way too much pressure on him that they keep pushing onto him and every time they do, they have complaints and it takes its toll on Heeseung very clearly. He makes a GREAT center, but the center does NOT always need to lead things and that's something none of these boys in any of these survival shows EVER realize. Jay however has a different type of leadership qualities to say Namjoon or Soobin. He has a more stubborn, firm approach, but he's still very kind and very caring and the way he lead Ground in Fire--and Ground had the better performance TBH. Ilanders did okay, but Ground was so synced up BECAUSE of Jay--just showed straight up that he deserves to be leader. I think K could be a great leader, he's also the oldest but tbh... he won't ever be made leader purely because he's Japanese as much as that sucks, that's just not gonna happen.) So lineup: Jay, K, Heesung, Jungwon, Sunghoon, Geonu, Sunoo, Jake, Taki, Niki, Daniel, and Hanbin. However, Taki, Niki, Daniel, or Hanbin can be swapped with Kyungmin PURELY for the fact that kfans really like him... for some reason (visual reasons according to articles). Hanbin will get in on votes because he's got SEA on his side. Jake has been popular since debut and Taki is really well liked. So I think it is very possible that the final Top 12 spot will be between Niki and Kyungmin. I do agree that Seon needs to be removed. Not because I dislike him or anything. I actually think he gets a lot of unnecessary hate. Fun fact, he was actually a Yuehua trainee in PD101 and he's the ONLY trainee that didn't get to debut in a group or something like that so he's desperate and this is likely his last chance. I don't think he's being sneaky, like some seem to think, but this is a "survival" show. Saying that, however, he disappears into the background. Hanbin was done dirty this ep. Between him and Jaeho I actually thought Hanbin was the better dancer, but Hanbin just didn't have the moves memorized. However, he also didn't raise his hand when they were asking ppl who wanted to be a part of the dance team and that's on him. I do think his confidence is a bit shaken and the reason he hasn't gotten into ILand yet is purely because his Korean isn't good. However he is definitely in the Top 12 PURELY because of his SEA fans so when voting comes I expect him to be very high in the ranking. Tho if the group is 9 members or less (and I"m hoping for 9. Perfect number for this group tbh), he's not getting in because I think ultimate group decision will be more up to the producers and Bang PD and if his Korean isn't good and they're debuting so soon it really can't be helped. The reason Sunoo kept getting voted out... imo my group chat thinks that the others just don't mesh with him. As audience we like him because he's hyper and funny and cute but looking at most of the Ilanders, they're a lot more serious so they probably felt he didn't fit the vibe of the team. However clearly the producers like him and I think after Save Me Iland will feel better about him too. But I think he's definitely in Top 12 if not also in the debut group. But yes those are my thoughts and I think 98% chance those will be our Top 12 too. Mnet just makes it fairly obvious about who they prefer and based on fan popularity, it matches up. The others don't have much popularity in comparison and neither do the producers seem to prefer them. But I guess it all depends on who they kick out after ep 5 and who wins this group battle... but if the debut team is any of those 12 I'll be happy (though my musts are Jay, K, Heesung, Sunghoon, and Jungwon)

You can definitely tell the i-landers regretted voting Sunoo out after seeing his vocal skills. They really set themselves up with that one ngl. Also I really want grounders to win because they killed it and most of my favorites are in ground lmao. Sunoo, Daniel, Hanbin, Niki, and Taki totally deserve to be in i-land. Omg and thank you for defending Niki, people give him such a hard time but he's so talented.

I agree the Butterfly performance was so good! I think Save Me was a little shakier vocal-wise, but they were really good at portraying the emotions of the song so it was very moving. I also want to see more of Kyungmin and Taeyong, they both seem like sweethearts. I can't wait for the dance performances either, I feel like it's gonna be really close.

My favs right now are K, Seon, Heesung, Nicholas, Sunghoon, Niki, Jay. I realized again while watching this Show that I really prefer People with either a Strong Character or the ones that are pretty quiet. None of the "cute" Trainees like Taki or Sunoo really appeal to me.

Between the two vocal stages, I obviously can't make a fair choice cause duh, both of my biases are in Save me. Yet, I do think that Sunoo and Daniel really managed to convey the emotion that this song was supposed to deliver. I totally agree with you when you said they are like White Swans and Black Swans. Butterfly-a song about an endless craving for perfection-was technically impeccable and ethereal, while Save me was emotionally moving, literally crying out for savior in insecurity. Both performances successfully embodied the musical basis of each song. Here are my current favorites and my thoughts on them. 1. Sunoo – My bias. I know it’s very different, but his vocal somehow reminds me of Jimin’s. He has this sharp squeezing voice when he’s starting his lines and it’s very attractive. And his facial expression on stage is getting better and better. 2. Daniel – If Sunoo’s voice is like Jimin’s, Daniel’s is more like JK’s. His is more airy and deep, and I don’t know if it’s because his throat was sore but it was somewhat husky as well. His eyes also remind me of baby JK back in the days. 3. Heeseung – Such an all-rounder. I can’t help feeling he is a good mixture of Soobin and Yeonjun. He has such a graceful sorrow in his eyes which reminds me of Soobin, and the fierceness and the style in his moves is like Yeonjun’s. 4. Jungwon – Another all-rounder, and I think he has more potential to show. I wanna hear him in emotional vocal songs like 20cm or Magic Island. And his dance moves were very impressive even among such powerful dancers like K and Jay. 5. Jake – I love his dance moves. I think he has a good balance between power and fluidity in his moves. Also, watching him all being sweet and playful with Sunghoon killed me lol

Still Seon will be a potential leader for me. He is a keen observer and player. He wasn't given a big role yet but everyone listens to him. Heesung my ult bias like what I always tell is low-key looks like kang Taehyun. Butterfly gave me a goosebumps so for me since it's a vocal competition, they won my heart. But 2 of my biases are performing save me.. They also did a very good job specially the choreography. But again this is about their vocals so in my opinion I - Land deserves to win. But in the preview definitely they lost, don't know if it's the vocal or dance line but 6 of them will go to the ground. Sad, first time Ilanders will go back without proving themselves yet.

Aaaah omg this episode was so good! We really went on an emotional roller coaster. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Sunghoon too! Once again, I'm really liking Sunoo, Daniel, Sunghoon, K, Jungwon, and Heeseung, they stood out to me a lot in this episode, Both of the vocal performances were great! With Geonu and Heeseung's performance, their vocals and facial expressions were so good. With Sunoo and Daniel, their voices suited the song so well and they synched well with each other. I'm conflicted though because I don't want 6 of the I-Landers to be sent to the Ground, but at the same time I want Sunoo and Daniel to go to the I-Land. Man, it's hard when you like members in both the I-Land and the Ground! This is my first time getting so attached to a show like this! Wow, it's so unique! I don't want it to end too quickly cuz I feel like I'll miss them all together. I can't wait to see the next episode with the dance performances!

So, where do I start... *scattered thoughts incoming* Cried again, yes. K & Ta-Ki... :( I LOOOOVE Jaebeom's voice, come on! Out of the 4 I-LANDers it was my fav, okay? (Not saying the others are not as good, it's just personal preference.) He's such a sweetheart, too. I'd vote for SAVE ME. They all did really well, but the GROUNDers performance just... I basically agree with what the judges said. Heeseung and also Geonu have good voices, but my vocal crown out of the 4 performers goes to Daniel. WOW! Just wow. He really impressed me so much. I hope the others will tell him again after how good he was, so he's not disappointed anymore. I loved Sunoo's voice since EP. 1, so I was very happy he could showcase it more this time. It's so refreshing! He needs to work more on it, sure, but for me he has a distinctive, very recognizable voice (same as Jungwon) and I love the tone. I really cannot imagine the number of members to debut or what the group might look like... I feel they would make almost any combo work, especially when it's finally decided that these are the members to debut together. Let's remember, for other groups it wasn't perfect from the get-go as well... members had thoughts like "I can't imagine we'd work well together/our personalities match" or "Only after this we felt much closer/as a group" (already weeks after their debut). We always seem to gravitate towards the same people (as biases) btw. xD Since last time (after EP. 2) when I shared my TOP 7, it has obviously changed again. I'm really really excited for the dance battle. Looking forward especially to Jungwon, Sunghoon and Nicholas parts. Also, I really want GROUND to win, just so that both groups are even more mixed up again (from the original groups). But I know some already have huge fan bases, so even if they won't be 6 of the fix I-LANDers (after the next voting), I'm sure they can get in with the global votes. It will be interesting for whom people vote, if their fav participant is already one of the fix 6. You know? There are probably more thoughts on everything, but I cannot grasp them right now, haha. (I'm tired.) Thank you again for this. Excited for the vid with your sister, too! :) I just remembered some more things... ^^° Kyungmin is adorable! The song for test 4 "I & Credible" sounds so GOOOOOOOOOOD already. If this is another original song (sounds a bit like it, at least from Zico's and Rain's reactions in the teaser)... I cannot WAIT for that performance, holy... "I will fiight~" (That part though! Sorry if I got the lyrics wrong it's just what I heard, haha.)

Regarding Sunoo: I had similar thoughts, too. But from a viewer's standpoint I think the group would truly benefit from a character like him. Okay, I may be too biased already, haha, but he loosens it up and is naturally cute and funny (he's a total meme generator). Sometimes people mistake this kind of behavior as not taking things seriously enough or being indifferent, when the reality or what's going on inside a person is different. (Not saying that's definitely the case here, we're not there with them, but it could be part of it.) I read somewhere that people usually at first misunderstand him (coming from a school friend or sth.), so I strongly believe given time they can see beyond those first impressions.

Tbh I feel like Seon is being shown on the show with that type of way he acts, on purpose. His talent isn’t shown that much which made me surprised when I heard his singing voice as how pretty low it is plus they won’t show how he is naturally as much with the other applicants but only a few seconds which normally is him being nice and supportive towards them. Either way I might be the only one but I think he would be a good leader if he debuts with the guys.

I also thought that Daniel and Sunoo performance was better. Daniel looked as if he has been an idol for a while and Sunoo facial expressions were on point making me feel more connected to the performance.

I agree with you in how the producer try to make others look better and others seem bad. For the bad scenes they tended to focus more on Seon or Niki, which is why many people don't like them, but like you I agree that Niki is talented when it comes to dancing. So I know there are rumors of the group being 7 members and if that is true then the first 7 on my list I would want to debut and if it is 12 members then these are the 12 members that I would want to debut. So here are my top 7 and top 12: 1. Sunghoon 2. Heeseung 3. Sunoo 4. Jungwon 5. Geonu 6. K 7. Daniel 8. Jay 9. Niki 10. Taki 11. EJ 12. Jake

I agree that the show editing really seems to favor certain contestants in detriment of others, which does make Niki and Seon come off more uncharismatic. Then again, considering the amount of people in there and the need to comprise everything into an hour-long entretening episode, it is understadable why the contests don't get an equal amount of screen time to showcase their personalities and talents. That being said, since I can only base my preferences on what is being shown, here is my current list of favorite contestants, up to this episode: Heeseung, K, Sunoo, Daniel, Jungwon, Geonu, Jay, Taki. I tend to be mostly drawn by personality and personal effort btw. I'm looking forward to seeing the dance units next episode, as I know this list will change lol I am very confident in saying however that I definitely want Heeseung, K and Sunoo to debut.

Jay taking one for the team was so heartbreaking. He was so disappointed that he wasn't going to be able to dance with K. I love how close they are all getting. How they don't let the others pull away from each other, like Daniel and Jungwon. I loved both Vocal teams. I just love this show so much!
