Making "Instant Loss" Patreon-exclusive (Patreon)
Content
Folks,
I'm thinking about ways to make my new series, Instant Loss, Patreon-exclusive and piracy-proof. Piracy is a constant problem, with my stories sometimes showing up on external sites for free within 24 hours of going live on Gumroads. This is of course a fact of life as an artist on the internet, and how much it affects my bottom line is debatable, but honestly I'm most concerned with how you as a patron can get the most value for your subscription.
I recently experimented with a new content delivery system for The Impregnation of Jessica Rabbit -- I delivered a one-time Mega link on the first of the month to active subscribers only. Anyone who was not pledged on Jan 1 didn't get the chapter and as a result I haven't seen that story pop up in any of the usual places. That means the patrons who pledged for it truly got an exclusive piece of work.
Instant Loss will be something of a recurring anthology series, not on a set schedule. I want to make it more special than a Main Feed Patreon post, but I don't feel like any single installment warrants a purchase on Gumroad. So I may try a similar treatment as the Impregnation story and make the first installment, Chun-Li, available only to active subscribers and only on March 1. Then at a later date I may bundle all the Instant Loss stories into a pack and sell them on Gumroad.
Tell me what you think of this plan! Nothing set in stone yet obviously, just workshopping ideas.
While I'm at it, here are a few concepts I'm planning for future installments of Instant Loss:
- Rey vs. Sangheili
- Psylocke vs. Caleb (Bimbofication)
- Ada Wong vs. El Gigante
- Morrigan vs. Porn addict teenager
- Triss/Yennefer vs. Black Witcher
- Ciri vs. Werewolf
- Zatanna vs. Tentacle Monster
