Hey guys,
After a short break to make the Halloween special last month, it was straight back to work on version 0.12. I’m pleased to report that all the writing is complete and I am currently working full time on producing renders and animations. This means I now know exactly how much is left to do and I am finally in a position to hazard a guess at a release date.
I had set a provisional target for the end of the year, which is only six weeks from now. However, looking at the list of scenes and animations I have left to create, I can’t see myself hitting that target. I think around 10 to 11 weeks from now for the beta version is a more realistic estimate. Therefore, I’m going to go out on a limb and set a release date of January 28th.
I know that’s a little while from now and there'll be a much longer gap between updates than I am comfortable with (which was part of the reason why I made the Halloween Special). However, please rest assured that the extra wait is only because it’s going to be a big update. In fact, I’ve already got more content created than update 0.11 and once complete update 0.12 is going to be three to four times that size. So please do bear with us, I promise it’ll be worth the wait.
Also, I know I haven’t posted any image previews in a little while. That was because I had to dedicate some time to finish off all the writing, then I had to make the Halloween special. However, I should have enough new scenes complete for another batch of image previews by the end of next week.
In some other news, I am pleased to report that an official french translation of the game is in the works and an English/French version of 0.11 should be ready for beta testing soon. A big thank you to patrons Gegecucu, Kthunda and Mortibus (plus any other contributors) for their hard work. As a prelude to that, I will be releasing a public version of the Halloween special with a full french translation this weekend, with the aim of getting some feedback on the translation. If all goes well, I hope to be able to include a french language option for all public releases going forward. I also have a template now for adding other languages and in time I hope to add more.
