"Chortling in the Cockpit"

Another reward finished on time! This was a fun one to do because I wanted to try and imitate the look of the original movie in terms of not only the art style of the characters but also the way the lineart is colored rather than all-black so as to look more vibrant. Doing this required adjusting my lineart techniques a little and including the linework in the shading as well as the base coloring, but that ultimately improved the final pic a great deal. I'm still not really happy with the way I rendered Lio's suit, especially since I feel like the lighting is a bit off, but overall I think I got the look of the film down to the best of my ability. I also had to adjust the foot view so it looks like a viewing screen and as such I couldn't preserve the full view of his soles getting brushed, sadly, but I don't think that matters much given that I made the screen nicely big to serve as space filler. This was a fun piece to work on, and I'm happy with how it turned out overall!

I also had a story in mind to go with this but because I'm already caught up in a bunch of other commitments both online and off (including and especially a co-written story I'm doing with someone else that I absolutely refuse to back out of), I don't have any actual writing for it as of now. Once the public release of this comes in six months, though, I do plan to post the story afterward - in no small part because there's a lot more content planned for it than just this one scene! Sadly, though, I believe my activity will slow down quite a bit over the next few months because I'm starting up a new job IRL at the end of this month and have to make sure I excel, but rest assured that you won't be going content-free during that period. I do have a lot of things recorded on my agenda, including the aforementioned co-write, and I promise I will take care of all of them as soon as I am able! :)
