Their features shift into an instant frown, pulling their freckles into small pools around their eyes. “I don’t get mad.” The frown smooths to a confused purse of their lips before they glance to the only other person in the room. “Do I?”

Nate/Nat pushes their hands into their pockets but manages a slight shrug. “A little.”

Mason/Morgan stares past you to the wall behind with a shake of their head. “Why?”

Nate/Nat barely bites back their spluttered laugh. “Well, I’m not going to tell you why. It would defeat the purpose.”

“Of what?” Mason/Morgan snaps in return.

They pull their hand out of their pocket to gesture at Mason/Morgan. “Of the joy of letting you find out for yourself. You know, personal growth.”

Mason/Morgan scoffs a sigh and drags a cigarette from their pack.
