We've posted these before, but here's the editing timeline for the Friday the 13th re:View. These are actually way less complicated than Best of the Worst edits, although it may not look like it based on the image. The first edit was close to 1hr 20mins long but I managed to get it trimmed to under an hour. The stuff that got cut was mostly talk about some of the other sequels but the video was meant to focus on parts 4 and 6 so that stuff got pulled to keep the video cleaner and less rambling (but we'll post the cut material here eventually).

Can't wait!

Reviews are 3 angles and (generally) a single film to clip in. BOTW is...what, 3 angles in discussions, 1 in viewing, 3 movies to clip in minus any references...yeah much less chaotic.

I'd love to watch the cut stuff

Yeah me too. I really can't get enough RLM content during covid. I've realized that the youtube algorithm likes to autoplay the same ~10 episodes or so of BOTW/WOTW/Plinketto.

Don't forget 1-2 handheld angles for the intro, insert shots for the reading of the back of each movie's box, and whatever craziness they come up with for the outro/destruction.

How long does it usually take you guys to edit the BOTW episodes?

Poo In An Alleyway

I’m legit excited about this re:View, and perfect timing as well since my signed Tom Savini Voorhees PPE mask finally arrived in the mail yesterday!

Anonymous

Yeah I noticed that as well, I would be annoyed if it was any other channel but the boys keep it entertaining even when repeatedly rewatching content

I've never watched a Friday the 13th movie so I'm keen to see if they are up my alley

An hours worth of Re:View material? Truly the most wonderful time of the year

Thanks for posting this timeline, Jay.

Just curious, but if you're calling it a series review why are you guys really only talking about 4 and 6? 4 is my favorite of the series so there's no real complaints for me, I just find this curious.

Thanks for your messages Jay - I'm glad you guys are making time for these extra tidbits

Caaaaaan't wait.

Woohoo! I’ve been wanting a F13th re:View. Appreciate all of the updates and the extra show footage ya’ll post

Very excited for this as Part 4 is my favorite in the series! (of those I’ve watched anyway) I watched Jason takes Manhattan for the first time last week and this week I’ll find out if Jason goes to Hell is really as bad as they say.

As an editor, seeing this is so cool. Keep up the amazing work gents

Like music to my eyes!

That doesnt look bad at all.. im sure there are dozens of timelines for clips n whatnot on BotW.. probably u try and keep the editing linear to make it easier

Anonymous

Holy hell. That's a lot of work.

I am half way through my rewatch of the entire series so the timing of this is great for me. Thanks for these little tidbits.

If a standard BOTW episode takes a week or more to edit, does a Junka episode take even longer given the sheer number of tapes? Are those the longest to edit?

Anonymous

As a worse-than-awful editor I find this shit fascinating. I throw it all into Adobe, cross my fingers and then somehow random text starts wobbling

Anonymous

Agreed. I'd love to see how you guys run though editing and what tricks and shortcuts you use. Honestly I'd watch just a Twitch stream of editing (or at least scrub through one).

I have edited many a video myself, so it's fun to get a look at this stuff. I would be doing more videos, but I have a "day job" so a 20 minute clip with three cameras, cut down from 45 minutes is a challenge in itself. When doing movie review stuff, adding in clips and references really adds more time. I found that it took almost an hour per minute for the really demanding stuff. Keep up the good work. I love you guys.

SWEETHEART MY SOCKS ARE ON FIRE

I don't think I've ever seen a Friday the 13th movie, or if I had never through. I'm a Chucky and Freddy fan. For that era of horror. Jason and Michael never did it for me. I think I saw the first one, maybe to completion. I stopped at 4 or 5 with Freddy, but have seen all of the Chucky's, I kind of like the series. It's good schlock. Haven't seen the remake. I love horror but usually stick with Asian.
