Mike and Jay talk about The Simpsons - "Marge in Chains"

Mike accidentally watched the episode "Marge in Chains" and noticed a few other things besides Coronavirus and Murder Hornets... He tells Jay all about it. Jay doesn't care.

Well, this is unexpected.

Is this an episode of the Simpsons?

I can’t wait for Mike and Rich to talk about “Star Trek XII: So Very Tired”

Mike being so bored that he started to watch all 31 seasons of The Simpsons is too funny.

A quick Google search later and it is an episode... A great episode

I'm more of a Futurama guy myself.

Katy

Well, thirty-plus years of episodes; it was bound to happen.

That was amazing.

I agree with Mike when he says that the last season of the Simpsons is really funny. Season 30 (2 seasons ago) is where is seems like the writers stepped up their game for the milestone season. Great episode guys!

Thanks for this, needed to smile today and you guys always come through~

Maybe Simpsons predictions are like Star Trek predictions, or Jules Verne's predictions of the household television or telephone or something like that, or Red Letter Media predictions of movie productions: the secret societies (the ones with the mind's eye in their logo) told them how to extrapolate available information to make an assumption how the future would possibly be like. And maybe technology nerds who read Jules Verne and watched Star Trek were inspired to develop the predicted (or rather envisioned) technology. Or maybe these are all prophecies from God, delivered by his son Jesus in dreams. Joking aside. The video does not state a clear point, besides the amazing coincidence of a cartoon episode from 1993 showing how society (a minority of society) typically regresses into madness and becomes violent, while the majority of people remains sane and - in my prediction - will overcome this situation. So, stay positive, I know 2020 sucks for the most part, but we'll survive, and perhaps even come out of this stronger than ever. :)

Yeah, that's great and all... But have you watched MONORAIL???

I had the same experience as Mike. I watched a random Season 30 episode and laughed my ass off. Went back and started a complete rewatch. I'm at Season 15 now... The waters are rough, but I will endure.

Any chance we might see you guys talk about other animated comedies, like South Park or any of the Adult Swim shows?

Good luck watching all of the Simpsons! Took me a little over a year to completely catch up but have been staying on board since.

If Mike says the new stuff is funny, I might go back and try again. I haven't watched an episode in over ten years.

My favorite podcast!

I could watch you guys discuss every single episode from season 1 - 9

It's very, very depressing how possibly the smartest, funniest, most soulful television comedy of all time, The Simpsons seasons 1-8 (maybe 9), is constantly overshadowed by another peculiarly similar looking but astoundingly less clever show, The Simpsons seasons 10-idk forty-something?

I watched this episode yesterday, damn

Like most things, at the time, these were probably commentaries on things that had already happened or were already happening. And because humans tend to keep making the same mistakes over and over, you can certainly apply the commentary to future events.

I know video games aren't Mike's thing, but there is a game that just came out where you can investigate paranormal activity with a group of friends. Mike can finally live out his fantasy of finding a ghost and also get Rich killed in the process.

And then Rich could come back and haunt Mike.

The mayor in the Simpson's going to the Bahamas during an emergency is too close to our Australian Prime Minister secretly going to Hawaii at the start of the year while most of Australia was engulfed in a massive bushfire. After everyone found out where he was, he lied by saying his on his way back immediately. Then he got caught sipping cocktails by the beach again and had to come back for real.

... and when he did get back we only then realised we wanted him gone again.

Big ups to Mike if he manages to sit through every episode of the Simpsons. I refuse to do that for anything past season 11.
