I’m not sure if someone made this joke already, but your Gremlins 3 movie with President Clamp should be titled Kremlins.

As far as sequels intentionally shooting themself in the foot, probably the closest is 22 Jump Street which has one of the best “here’s your fucking sequel pitch” sequences I’ve ever seen.
