Sorry to anyone that hasn't had a chance to see the Gremlins 2 video. It's rare that a studio completely blocks a video like this, at least for us. We'll do what we can to get it back up as soon as possible.

Good thing I caught it early!

Anonymous

Sounds like a perfect recipe for a Tums festival

Anonymous

Awww, dammit. I knew I should have watched this immediately when I got the notification email at 6am. Stupid sleeping.

Anonymous

I just got it in under the wire.

Declan

Thanks guys :)

Anonymous

I am actually currently watching it. Guess I shouldn't refresh

Anonymous

They want to steal your Gremlins 3 idea

Anonymous

Noooooo just got out of work and about to turn it on

Anonymous

The studio is trying to remove any evidence that the Gremlins 3 idea came from you & not from their hotshot screenwriter, Nax Nandis.

Anonymous

Those damn gremlins!

Anonymous

Probably President Clamp's fault

Anonymous

Maan, was just about to watch this.

Mike St Louis

Wow! Really? I hadn’t seen G2 and was mulling whether to watch it first before the Re:view. Good luck guys. I hope you can work around this.

Anonymous

Darn, I was looking forward to this since you guys mentioned it a month or so ago. Out of all the films you guys have covered.... smh. Keep up the good fight, RLM.

Anonymous

Do they even understand how many people are going to pay to watch the movie just cause you guys are reviewing it? Probably some stupid intern did it.

Anonymous

This is sabotage by some kind of supernatural force that attacks technology... like a Frankenstein or something.

Anonymous

It's so counter productive to block a video that would regenerate interest in a 30 year old property

Andy

Aw, nuts - i got about halfway through it, then had to do something else. I even had it open in a tab, paused on Jay's loving face, until about an hour ago when i closed it. That'll teach me not to watch RLM content immediately!

Anonymous

This is why you need to set up your notifications, people. You never know when some idiot corporation will wantonly block content that's clearly covered under fair use.

Anonymous

Mike and Jay sword fighting with the Gremlin arms and unintentionally defacing priceless movie props was the final straw for WB!

Anonymous

It went down as I was watching it. How dare you guys give free advertisement to a movie and potentially introduces a new audience to it and its endless merchandising potential. For shame.

Anonymous

Those frauds!

Anonymous

but i have RedLetterMedia+

Anonymous

Maybe you could reenact all the scenes you've used from the film with those props you got? :V Anyway, I hope WB gets sorted.

Anonymous

(Fill in random nonsensical comment where the punchline is Rich Evans)

Anonymous

If I had watched it at work like I wanted to this wouldn’t have happened! 😡

Anonymous

That’s crazy. Your review was very positive on the movie.

Anonymous

I was so excited to watch this after work. I guess I'll go watch Ishtar instead.

Anonymous

Jesus Christ, I just finished it!! Thank the maker!

Anonymous

If you put it up here just for Patreons, no one will ever know. (Please? I was halfway through it and accidentally closed the tab)

Anonymous

Jesus, like wtf does it matter?? Sorry about that guys!

Anonymous

To those who didn't get to see the video and are curious, Jay commended the cinematography and puppeteering, while Mike brought up Star Trek and Star Wars multiple times.

Anonymous

Damn, I'd only watched the first 10mins earlier, was going to come back to the rest of it over lunch. I'll never understand this attitude of the distribution companies. My only thought when you put this up was "huh, haven't seen that in a while, wonder if it's able to be rent\bought on Amazon". It's only getting people to watch your movie again, spending money to do so. Can be damned sure I won't support them now, so good job Warner Bros!

Anonymous

Was literally about to pay to rent this movie tonight because I wanted to watch it first before watching this video. Stupid, stupid studio.

Anonymous

it was the first of your videos i watched on patreon, so money well spend and perfect timing. Still shitty though

Anonymous

What a great episode, huh? It was easily one of the Top 3 re:View's they've ever done, so full of genuine love for the movie and franchise. Only the Ed Wood re:View is on par with this one.

Anonymous

I hope it's just the youtube robots being retarded again and it'll be solved quickly for you guys...

Anonymous

Blah, anyway we can get a direct link from it unlisted? Bummer edit: Wow...copyright claimed really lame WB

Anonymous

So i guess Gremlins 2 is the kiss of death on Youtube lol

Anonymous

Gremlins 3 confirmed :-)

Steve

FUCK YOU, YOUTUBE! FUCK YOU, WARNER BROS! I HOPE EVERYONE AT YOUTUBE AND WARNER BROS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS VIOLATION OF THE DMCA GETS AIDS.

Anonymous

They're upset you spoiled the plot for the upcoming Gremlins 3.

Anonymous

I think it's because you sent a destroyed copy of Christmas Vacation 2 to them. They must have been really proud of it.

Matt Naylor

This is fucking stupid. Didn’t get to watch. I hope WBs’ collective dick festers with leprosy and falls off in a puddle of putrid pus. Fuck it.

CSL

You joke, but Patreon is RedLetterMedia+!

Anonymous

Thank heavens I watched it at work this morning!

Anonymous

Luckily caught it earlier. Hope all is resolved.

Ashley

Glad I was able to catch it but I'm indignant for you guys! I will fight for you!

Anonymous

Saw the video was blocked and immediately logged into Patreon to become a Patron! Hope you're able to get it back up :)

Anonymous

Glad I got it in before studios took it down. Dang. I bet they didn't know what to do about someone praising the film and just freaked out.

Anonymous

It's entirely appropriate, now, that Mike visualizes the YouTube Copyright bots as those squid-like machines from The Matrix, seeing as that's also a Warner Bros film.

Anonymous

Well crap I was looking forward to that.

Anonymous

I suppose that proves that the Gremlins reboot is coming out next year, and they don't want to remind people of the good one.

Anonymous

can you post it on patreon using vimeo or some alternative?

Anonymous

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure the copying of copyrighted content for the purpose of criticism falls under fair use https://fairuse.stanford.edu/overview/fair-use/what-is-fair-use/

Anonymous

Hope this gets resolved soon! We love you guys ♥️

Anonymous

You hack frauds could host it on here in the meantime.

Anonymous

Vimeo!

Anonymous

good luck. i didn’t even get the chance to see it yet

Anonymous

And I had it ready to go at the top of my Watch Later list :(

Anonymous

I hope the strike is revoked! Rooting for y'all.

Anonymous

I understand the need to quickly defend intellectual property when it's in digital form, but these random take-downs are like Sony lawyers detaining people in the street for selling bubble gum flavor ice cream under the accusation that it resembles Spider Man.

Anonymous

...also get blocked nerds haha

Anonymous

I was just trying to re-watch and enjoy the video again when I couldn't find it. For shame!

Anonymous

Please backup your videos to another service, or post to bitchute and other platforms at least.

Anonymous

Glad I got to watch it this morning when I did. Yikes.

Daniel Garcia

Appreciate all the hard work guys, maybe throw it up on Vimeo, they tend to be less assy about crap like that. Or you could replace all the footage of Gremlins 2 that you cut away to and insert nothing but previously seen Neil Breen footage? I dunno. You guys do awesome work, take it easy

Anonymous

Noooooo. I was waiting all day to watch it after work. Damn you, unnamed corporate persons!

Juan Calvo

I picture a corporate shill gremlin blocking it from the YouTube headquarters. Hopefully the issue gets resolved soon, it's one of your best re:views so far.

Anonymous

They can't keep us from the TRUTH!!

Anonymous

For mind-share, it makes sense to keep using YouTube and fight the claim, but others are right about having an alternative ready. Would you be okay with adding a "Non-commerical, no-derivative, share-alike" Creative Commons license and letting fans share via BitTorrent? It wouldn't cost RLM any time, just your blessing. Anyone could download the video and create torrent file or magnet link.

Anonymous

OMG I GOT TRASHED WITH THE FULL UNDERSTANDING THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO WATCH THIS TONIGHT AND I GOT ARRESTED AND NOW I CANNOT WATCH THIS VIDEO IN JAIL BECAUSE OF THE STUDIO NOT BECAUSE I WAS ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE VEHICULAR HOMICIDES DUDE SERIOUSLY

Anonymous

Am sad.

Anonymous

You must have leaked too many details on the upcoming Gremlins cg movie.

Andrew Burt

Call Hulk Hogan, maybe he can get the video back up.

Anonymous

I was going to watch this tonight. Warner Bros makes me say ☹️

Anonymous

I'm so glad I got to watch this. I was surprised to see it got copyright claimed. Eesh you'd think they'd want he good review!

Anonymous

Yikes. Would they do the same if it were a Private video? I'm asking for a friend...

Anonymous

I'm jealous, I was saving it for when I got home tonight :(

Anonymous

Dang, I was about halfway through watching it earlier today. sorry gents, that is pretty lame.

Anonymous

Vimeo?

Anonymous

Why they would do such a thing is mind-boggling. Especially since video-essays like this effectively serve as 30 minute commercials to catch up with the film. It should be win-win for them.

Anonymous

Wow, your video was the only reason I was actually considering watching Gremlins and Gremlins 2. I guess studios don't realize how videos like yours actually help them. Glad I got to see it before it went down.

Anonymous

aw, i was really looking forward to this for tonight too :(

Anonymous

Great work on the re:view. This whole thing is especially frustrating given that Joe Dante himself had praised the video and linked to it on Twitter. That should have brought you so many new viewers, many of whom would have stuck around. I hope you can get it sorted out soon. Maybe offer AT&T total creative control of Nerd Crew going forward. I know that would make Disney furious but you can sort that out later.

Anonymous

It was too scuffed

Anonymous

Me and my husband were saving it for our Friday night together, so I hope it will be back by then. I asked him to not watch it yet, so I would feel silly if he didn't get to watch it. Oh well.

Anonymous

I always wonder why that doesn't happen more often. You always pack your videos with scenes from the movies you are reviewing. And yes it should fall under fair use.

Anonymous

"Hey, there is a lengthy, positive review of one of our movies that might actually generate some sales for us, how about we pay a lawyer more than this video could ever generate for us so that dos not happen."

Dion Turner

This reminds me of an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation - Qpid. Where Q transforms Picard into Robin Hood and some of the crew into Merry Men. This was under the guise of reinvigorating Picard’s relationship with Vash (Maid Marion); but really it was just Q showing off his powers so Vash would leave with him at the end of the episode to explore the galaxy - effectively cockblocking Picard.

Anonymous

Boy, am I glad I watched this yestereve! This reminds me (for no apparent reason): Mike & Rich, PLEASE review ALL Star Trek movies and at least ALL seasons (if not episodes) of ALL Star Trek shows! No fancy editing needed. Just sit there and talk your talk. Tie this to a higher patreon pledge. I guarantee, you can make a living from Star Trek fans alone!!

Anonymous

I was just trying to finish it! I had to pause yesterday and never got a chance to come back. Warner Brothers don't play. This is the first of your videos I've seen this happen to. Is this something you've run into much in the past?

Anonymous

WB just wants their stolen arm and egg props back. Oops -SPOILERS!

Anonymous

Has that happened a lot in the past, having videos blocked like this?

Anonymous

Can you re-do the review, replacing all clips from the movie with scenes you film with the RLM gang? 😄 You even have the right props!

Anonymous

I fork over my hard earned Burger King money every month to you people. I expect some fucking results.

Anonymous

If you can't fix that, you should give it a new, much meaner, review.

Anonymous

And Joe Dante liked the gremlins 3 pitch! https://mobile.twitter.com/joe_dante/status/1174412779626749952

Anonymous

You should do a re-view on Warner Bros and go into intricate detail as to how much donkey dick they suck and how much they LOVE sucking donkey dick.

Anonymous

What?!? Fuckers!!

Anonymous

Sucks, but you got a new $2 tier patron. Thats gotta offset at least 100k views or something.

Manuel Johnen

At least we still have this... https://youtube.com/watch?v=x01l_jMhjVM

DonMac

Oh great. Apparently the gremlins at YouTube and the gremlins at Warner Bros have joined forces to muck this up.
