It was interesting how the reaction transitioned from “should I skip this arc?” to actually starting to get invested. This is a very character driven arc and some of that early material aside from the comedy was important set up in my opinion. I’ve watched Bleach twice - not counting reactions - and a lot of things I found boring the first time I appreciated a lot more on second viewing. It’s not super deep but I found the “slice of life” stuff and even some of the comedy helped me get invested in the characters and their relationships. It humanised them to me.
