Sorry about the delay on this! There's a bit to mention in this dev update post, so let's get right into how the development is roughly looking in progress!

-Final editing pass. 60-65% --> 80% done.
-Engine transfer. 60% done. (No progress)
-New assets added/functioning correctly. 90-95% --> 100% done.
-New feature/systems testing. 40% --> 60% done.
-General testing pass. 25% done.
-Release.

We're probably going to have the final editing pass done in another week and then the main areas will be engine transfer and new feature/system testing that remains! ^^ We've even tried to take advantage of our time to begin general testing with what scenes are more or less finalized, making sure those are 100% ready and less work for us to do for the general testing before release.

You might have noticed with engine transfer progress, we haven't made progress since our last dev update. This is because something came up with our programmer personally to take care of in the past two weeks roughly and they've sorted their personal stuff out thankfully, but we hope to have them take advantage of next week and see where we're at by next Friday on engine transfer and feature/system testing.

We're still hoping to have the content ready as we expected, but we'll continue to work on our focused areas and ideally push to get it all squared away! ^^

We don't have a ton to share for previews today, but we want to show off the finalized textbox ui. Along with it, the font and how the text looks itself! :P

We're aware that it might need some time to adjust to when playing the game and going through the content, but we'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on how the font looks. Our goal is a balance between being readability and style. Clearly we want people to be comfortable when reading through the game as our priority, but we're trying to make the font text feel fitting with our game's visual look as well.

Ideally, the best option would be to allow players to change the font in the config settings in the event you prefer black text on pink background or other colors and font options. We'll look into accessibility options to present these for players, but we'd love to know what you think about the default font text look.

More examples to get a better idea how it looks.

We urge that you view these images in the post's gallery viewer at the beginning of the post, as it'll be better aspect ratio. The images seem to be shrunk or "off" looking when viewing them like this typically. ^^"

Besides that, I'm looking to share a edited version of the script for the 2nd and 3rd scenes of Episode 5. We have to be mindful that there's some story spoilers and with sharing the script, it'll expose a lot of that. Even some of the visual previews we've been careful about, making sure we don't show something we're not supposed to.

Just understand that once we dive into the episode, there will be many questions and possibly a hard wait until v0.21 to see how things pan out or get some more explanations with what unfolds!

Well hopefully we'll finally see a release before the holiday season, lol. Been nearly two whole years since v0.19 so I hope the wait will be worth it in terms of content. Looking forward to 0.20 when it's ready.

Eyup! It'll for sure be out before the holiday season! I know our programmer has some light plans to adjust things after v0.20 hits, but ideally we should also see a v0.21 before the end of this year. (Which should bring our first taste of the route content and quality fixes for earlier content rolled into one.)
