woah woah what is this? an actual CAS mod? I think it is.. 

remember when I teasted these cas backgrounds last year I created? now I want to present to you the actual idea for the mod they're related to, introducing MYCAS


 Before you get your hopes up, let me give you my disclaimer: this is in no way anything made functional whatsoever. There has been no programming for this and no code added at all but the concept is in place. I have no idea when I will ever be able to even touch this for a test or coding, but I've used some elements from just the interface alone to create what I envision create a sim should look like when fully utilized and customizable. I started this July 2022 and hopefully in the future I will be able to bring this concept to life. take a walk with me..

intro:
At this point almost all simmers play the game with some type of cas mod and I've always felt it wasn't utilized in the best ways that you could be of better use to us and offer a lot of advantages and possibilities to create exactly what we want and customize Sims exactly how we need to and help with our personal cosmetic & apparel needs

I will explain what the elements are and will change:

a pop up to enable MYCAS cas cheats will pop up before every use in game, and every updated version will require you to allow the cheat to happen , i'm not sure if this can be force done automatically since no other mods have had this to happen besides tmex mod, but I will make this either as something enabled or a popup in the side ui as a reminder to do so.. i feel this will be what is needed for mycas to work fully

there will be a new sim genetic honeycomb and occult honeycomb trait system

traits and custom traits 


UI added to allow up to as many traits as you want and how that looks in game well...lol as many as you can handle the menu on the bottom should 'should' be able to have many selected. the same as how multiple careers mod works . there will be a add button for the honeycomb menu to add and select them even if you're just using them for poses. these do auto generate with townies as they normally would i don't think mycas will give sims possibly up to 8 traits at once. this will be divided by a good / bad side ratio for more balanced sim personalities

i've used the same sizing for the trait honeycomb as more traits in cas mod to better fit all the traits you can add in this area without conflicting with the rest of the mycas ui

camera pose traits will have a custom icon that clones the traits base game and custom that have poses attached to them and adds a hover button with a mini camera icon that enter camera mode and hide all the ui except the traits panel. this will allow you to take upclose trait screenshots with the AOD zoom and regular cas pics screenshots without the ui , clicking exit pose to go back to MYCAS

outfits

outfits are sectioned out in groups of 5 as the original from everyday to seasonal. the mini drop down arrow will allow that first set of 5 to be switched to a menu to go to the next 5-10, 10-15, 15-20, 25-30 , all the way up to x max number. outfit possibilities are endless now. *sims might cycle through any of these in their automatic outfit changes , so I will make this ui the same for IN-GAME* I do think the umbrella ui system would be ideal for extended outfits. this does not fix townie generated outfits though. but i will add a button for allow or disallow townies for outfits and create a style outfits. you will also be able to select custom create a style outfits here in the outfit section too by a button icon

occults: (might delete or move this info) outfits will be cut in half. instead of (example) 100 outfit slots, 50 will be for human form and 50 for non-human form. ability to assign occults will be clickable on the top occult icon and then you will be able to cycle between all the occults listed in your game. custom occults can be made and labeled here with it's own representative icon as well.

with the new werewolves addition, i'm able to recreate occult menus in mycas for customization allowing custom occult menus to be duplicated and made in cas, they will save to the MYCAS mod folder for easy load time. also your custom occult labels in cas can be shared as presets in their separate folders

every category will have a occults separate one in this version of MYCAS


create-A-style has been released to edit existing ones on your own. the process for making custom create a style options was posted by someone before, so i've added that same concept for an in-game option with this new UI and function

*create a styles can also be added to mannequins in game* with the same ui as regular sims

this is for male and female sims of all ages


 detail modes : Area of Detail ( AOD ) 

in mycas I will call the detail mode of each spot , the area of detail aka AOD which will be labeled on screen to let you know what parts you are editing for NOW, i will remove this indicator text as I improve mycas and when everyone is familiar with it all will be self explanatory. I might leave it so you will always know what you are doing who knows.

new detail modes for 

front: hands & arms | legs thighs  | feet | neck | mouth chin | nose front chest and belly |

back: back neck | butt | hindleg | spine | heel | lowerback upperback |

sides upper: hand and arm slider | jaw | neck | nose | chest | upper lower back

sides lower: legs thigh calves -

feet: front and back width enlarge | shrink |

this should allow you to zoom and have more detailed controls over these areas with in game sliders and the new detail mode sliders for those in between adjustments . this allows new camera zoompoints that open new UI components in the new mycas pie menu elements borrowed from the console version & pets version of cas allows these to function smoothly when combined. I wanted camera hotspots to be targeted and chosen for zoompoints as well. so a new ui magnifying glass & will be for the expanded detail modes 

each detail mode will have a 360 rotating axis. so sims will still be able to spin while in detail mode. to enable this you will have to manually exit detail mode and not just click out to exit. there are too many places to click in this mode to mess up so the option to leave detail mode will have to be done by you. 

the reason for this: there is a zoom out feature for detail mode so the maximum zoom in will focus on the select detail area while the zoom out mode will be able to see the whole body but STILL remain in detail mode. this allows you to see the whole sim while focusing on that 1 body section. you won't be able to go back into regular MYCAS until you leave detail mode. there will be a exit button for it. without making it this way you would not be able to have the multiple slider feature in every AOD mode


sliders

detail modes have sliders.. there are many custom sliders out there and I wanted to add some in game basic ones to each area for the new detail modes for minor adjustments that work outside of the regular sliders. I do not know if custom sliders work in the new detail modes yet or will...there are new visualizer sliders the same as the base game ui ones that add ranges for each section the same as base game sliders would. the camerazoom on these will be different as sims faces and bodies are all different sizes too. too close will make it unusable and too far won't be enough for detail mode to zoom in. 
I also flipped the slider direction for the slim - fat slider because the direction theyre both in are very backwards compared to how everyone makes sims.

up down left right 

will all have default slider sections for each detail part you will be able to click. the ranges of these slider bars will be the same intervals as the base game slider. I will make a version for expanded ranges for people who want that but for now I want to get the basic sliders working before I can play with things.

the way these will work in regular MCAS will be by unlocking all the unused slider areas of the sim that custom sliders use to allow them to be moveable. the expanded ranges will allow these moveable sliders to be MORE . kind of how cmar's expanded body ranges and face sliders work. alot of advantages but they do not change all the sims in game just the sim you're working on. the stylized versions of sliders is what make the custom ones unique. like how my sliders work they all that shapes that we want to use. SO in my attempt to keep from overriding custom sliders I've made all the MYCAS sliders non-default. so they do not replace your custom ones. this way you can use EA sliders along with MYCAS AND CUSTOM SLIDERS. giving you 3 ways to have control of how your sim looks. 


all AOD modes will have 60-180 degree rotation on body sliders and 40-90 degree rotation on face sliders

face slider detail modes will have more hotspots

so far the ear slider mode once in ear detail mode: you can set the ear preset here. this will allow you to see your custom ears and earring accessories. if you are wanting to put on a earring accessory that does not cover the ears you can see it in the detail mode using the zoom out feature. same works with all sliders in detail mode too


occults : hybrid trait system

a new ui edit to the occult honeycomb section 

adds a clickable occult on the trait itself to allow you to pick a occult directly from cas for the sim and allow you to pick a custom occult and name it in the new pop up name menu on this tab. you can also pick the in game icon for the custom if you have custom icons installed *i might include 500+ pngs extracted from the game in MYCAS as a addon. the custom add on doesn't have a function to gameplay but you will see your sim labeled as the occult you chose in game as hovertags ...there might be custom plumbobs for custom occults in the future to indicate those in game.

I will provide a way for modders to add their modded occult to MYCAS in the future

interactions between sims and how they identify occults haven't been planned yet , but they will have their occult type above their name in game.


genetics honeycomb

you can select a sim from a mini drop down menu in game when selecting genetics for siblings or relative that are related to your sim that you are currently creating from their genetics. you can now select grandparents , aunts , uncles and other relatives from the sim to generate a genetic change based upon how that sim looks

because for sims to have babies you need either M+F F+F M+M I won't be creating a nongender category for genetics. 

a mini menu will pop up to select a household and then select a family member to specify which sim you want to make genetic changes to or a new sim made from those selected genetics. 

a mini menu in the trait honeycomb added to label if the relative sim is a particular family member based on the map of how family members are created. sisters and brothers of grandparents will be considered grand-aunts and grand-uncles. sisters and brothers of greatgrandparents will be considered great-aunts and great-uncles. grandparents who have grandkids that have kids will now have ability to change into greatgrandparents. 

children of a sim's brother or sister will now be considered niece if female and nephew if male. so if you want your new twin sister to look like your great-aunt , you can now do that on your own from the menu. 

relatives who are not brothers sisters uncles aunts or grandparents or neice or nephews will be considered cousins. the brothers and sisters of these cousins will be labled as 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th cousin to the active sim that is the relative with non-close family members. hopefully this will help better keep track of family members beyond 2nd and 3rd generations in the genecology. plus townies that populate the game that generate with families will now be able to have history too. 

I'm not sure how distant cousins and grand niece and grand nephew will be added as of now , I'd have to deep dive into the breakdown of sim genecology 

sims should automatically get these labels as the family grows. if i'm not able to do that, you will have the option to change that in mycas 

***this MIGHT work for all occults too, so you can have the ability to make the genetic sim have vampire mermaid or alien genetics and give those to offspring along the bloodline I will have to plan & test it out ***

one of the most interesting parts of this will be the search by name feature to mycas 

cloned from the select masc or fem style type menu to allow you to search for the name of the cc or item you are looking for directly in cas. this will search for package names. so if your package is labeled 2021TOP and it's a T-shirt with a design on it, you won't find it. so make sure you either rename your packages or remember that when searching. you can also search by creator of whoever has their creations tagged with the created by poptags that we got added earlier this year mycas will utilize this in the search feature. once the search is found , everything by that creator will pop up in the cas menu and the name will be highlighted in the box, to filter the search you can click on a shoe or maybe a pair of pants and find everything in this section related to the search results

deleting cas packages from in game when you have broken cc is NOT a feature i will focus on , i know it existed in sims2 but..maybe one day

columns.

 I do not want to remake these at all lol I left this untouched as the columns mod is perfectly fine as a standalone and the weebersu does great at updating it every patch in a timely manner and finding bugs with it.. but I did need to adjust it for this to work seamlessly so I'm making it work with the columns mod so! if you use it, mycas will allow you to adjust coulmns and padding in game with a new ui button that will have little bars and once you click it , a small panzoom will shift to the right and you can add more columns and adjust your padding and spacing with the arrows. user input for this i feel will be a bit tricky but I wanted it to be able to adjust for simmers who have very wide monitors or who have always wanted more columns to match all their cas CC (like me) the maximum columns will be 10. I think that is a good amount 

makeup and skin

when they gave us new cas menus like occult details and fingernails I got to thinking..why can't we use these to create our own more detailed versions of cas sections to function better?

I've moved fingernails & toenails sections to the makeup section. they still will show up as fingernails will in cas but they have now been recategorized to show up in makeup. 

I didn't add them to skin details for the simple fact of some sims don't wear the same nails everyday

Layerables:

a new category catered to layerable clothing. once this bubble is clicked it will open up a variety of menus just like a copy of the basic CAS ones but only under this menu are they meant to be seen as layerable when added to these such as scarves, jackets, belts, headwear, eyewear, that are not apart of the basic CAS sections. creators will be able to use these tags for MYCAS so they can be added in this area. the layerable categories will not change how they show up on the uv map. so a coat made in the hats sections will still be in the hat section, just that in CAS it will be identified as layerable for organization of what is a coat vs a hat. each section of layerables will also have it's own layerable cloned section. example: if you wear a hat in the hat section and also are looking for the layerable hat from another section it will be listed in layerable hats without taking off the hat. again this is one for categorizing and ordering layerables in cas. many creators make different layerables in many sections that function differently and I want to include many of them I've seen so far. If one day I can make a special uv coding for layerable items that will disallow clipping and conflicts, I will but that is something that can't and won't change from the sims basegame far as I know.

accessories

after taking a look at all the mini sections in cas that have NO labels at all but are jammed together in the accessory ui, I've separated them into sections with custom with their own icons and tags!

 in the head-accessory categories when you click the icon it you will get met with a new menu that will pop up as hats and other head accessories

moved the hats section to the head accessory section. they will still show as hats buy have now been recategorized to show in head accessories.

I've moved all piercings to the skin details section and separated them into sections with custom with their own icons and tags. piercings will still show in the same way they do in sims4studio and their uv map is the same. I just moved these in cas to help with categories and enabled them for all outfits by default

head-accessories now have icon sections: 

index finger (left ) - moved to body accessory 

index finger (right) - moves to body accessory 

middle finger (left ) - moves to body accessory

middle finger (right )  - moved to body accessory

ring finger left - moved to body accessory

ring finger right  - moved to body accessory


for accessory eyes and blushes used in the cheek and mask category I've made sections for eyes and blush in the makeup section. 

eyes have not been changed to their own in the files but you can click the icon and allow to label it as an eye accessory or blush accessory directly in MYCAS. these sections will still be able to be seen WHILE SELECTING DEFAULT EYES in the AOD

skin details

if you are like me, you are tired of putting all the same piercings into the same outfit each sim you create or edit a sim. all skin details have been moved to a new section once clicked along with all the occult details sections and custom details

whether you play with occult sims that use different body parts labeled here or use skin overlays in many forms as a default overlay or nose overlays I've separated all the skin details into sections with their own icons and tags! and even added custom ones. all the custom ones are empty as I've not added any coding for these yet

all accessories will show up in the same sections as they have in sims4studio and the basegame this just moves them to different places in MYCAS for when making your outfits. 

I will provide a file for creators to add their own cc to the custom skin detail, accessory and clothing sections to be compatible with MYCAS in their CC in the future !


I feel like it's like these are very untouched in the modding of Sims unless you're very knowledgeable about certain types of coding, but I don't think it's impossible so we'll see how this goes.


future features I plan to make:

  • rearranging clothing categories with drag and drop or click and drop
  • unisex clothing setting option.
  • no masc or fem clothing setting.
  • unlock mermaid occult outfits in separate outfit categories for occults for human form and mermaid form
  • ability to tag cas accessory as a particular layerable with a button click
  • select open MYCAS from mirrors, closets, dressers, and laundry baskets
  • colormode + darkmode
  • dynamic lighting cycles
  • add career outfit and section for editing and saving directly in cas even with cas.fulleditmode enabled
  • 360 rotation for basegame detail mode
  • make makeup and face accessories inherit other outfit slots from a button click and uninherit them when selected on individual outfits
  • color wheel + color slider for all swatches of cc clothing shoes and accessories for human and pet sims
  • I will make a default replacement sliders version of MYCAS with slider options players can place in the folder to add to its assigned section

PURCHASE OUTFITS DIRECTLY FROM CAS FOR GAMEPLAY - *optional*
this will be for sims who make and use alot of $ . Prices will generate and they will go up or down based on the day in game and each category has its own set price and each item your sim wears will have a $ too. The price will be listed under the thumbnail in cas $$90-1000 &1000-5000 $$5000-10000. once you pick your item in cas you will be deducted that amount in game. So everytime you change your sims clothes in cas this will happen. Prices will be high some days and low others..also being a A lister or Global superstar will make all the clothing in cas higher in cost. a pop up indicating a clothing shop sale will happen at random. Usually sales are thru the week at random. Mostly weekends. Monday madness. Trippy tuesdays. Fabulous Fridays. Sexy saturdays. Stunning Sundays After 3 sales you get a coupon. Notification will happen once you go in game that you used a coupon also. just a fun way to add create a sim into gameplay besides just thrifting

backstory:

MYCAS was going to be YCAS (yokozii-cas) just for the simple fact that I plan to brand everything that I create LOL but I feel like the more innovative and Sleek name would be fitting for MYCAS: Made For You by You type of thing

Feel free to drop your ideas or thoughts on this.. I appreciate anyone who either could guide me in the direction of getting started with this type of coding or offer any assistance all is welcome to chime in.

I'm not going to make this post public, at least not until I have something tangible for my patrons to test, but it's kind of one of those secret things I will make it for all my patrons to view and track and kind of get a feel for overtime..I'm not sure when this will even be available there is alot I need to learn and plan out but one day in the future for sure. I just enjoy designing user interfaces and there are many games that have very good character creation screens that make it worth the time spent creating them..so I want to make this project come alive with those concepts in mind. I will post updated CAS images of my designs in the future for MYCAS

Whaaaaaat!!!! This is AMAZING!! If you ever do want to turn this into something big, pleaaaase take your time. Coding is no joke and also constant mod updates as well. Also maybe other folks out there could help you on the coding end as well? Not sure if you want it to be a collab, but it could definitely take some weight off your shoulders. Anyways, awesome idea babe, I wish you the best <3
