Monday post! Woot!

Hi Everyone!
It’s Monday! Yay! I spent all week cleaning up the office, replacing things that went missing, and generally setting everything up again. What a nightmare! If you missed last week’s post, I let a homeless friend I’ve known for 30 years stay at my house, and he wrecked the place (up to and including literally pooping in the office) and refused to leave until I began involving the police.  Police, lawyers, etc… Nightmare.
After a full week of grinding away every day with solvents and machines, it’s looking and feeling pretty good, now. There’s still a pervasive smoke odor that washing the walls and ceiling didn’t remove, but my father is bringing an industrial “Ozone” generator over on Thursday. They use those in hotels to de-smoke rooms, and it really kills the smoke smell. That ought to do it and get us back to 100% (minus the Nicole-signed Celestia and the shelf she was on.)
Outside is still a shit-show, but I’ve made a daily routine of wandering around the property slowly with a container to pick up little shards of glass and screws which suddenly appeared. My rounds today didn’t yield a single piece, so I think I’m getting somewhere, finally.
I sound miserable, but believe me when I say I’m feeling much better than I have in weeks. Veelicious and I both are a little emotionally unwell from this but we are getting better. It was scary and awful.
This week I’m going to be answering emails for the first few days, and then I’ll move on to testing the new build I’ve worked on on various VR headsets. Goal is to put out a release on Monday. It’s really cool stuff and I’m proud of it. Please continue to use the May keys until next month.
Here’s the weirdest and most stupid changelog I’ve ever written! Here’s what I did last week.

  • Changed all locks, passwords, wifi credentials, etc…
  • Locked our credit with all credit agencies.
  • Threw away coffee maker. Covered in unknown sticky fluid. Nothing I could do would make me trust that machine to be food safe.
  • Threw away microwave. Looked like it went on a trip on the Event Horizon. Wasn’t a great microwave to begin with.
  • Threw away all the bedding he used. Blankets, sheets, etc…
  • Cleaned fridge with ammonia solvent. Unknown yellow fluid in fridge aggressively foamed up into a shaving cream-like substance upon contact with ammonia. I was wearing a chemical respirator and eye protection while doing all of this. What the fuck does that?
  • Found secret stash of rotting food underneath the microwave. No trail of goo leading to it, so he must have picked up the microwave, spooned a gob of food onto the table, and put the microwave back on top of it. Amazing.
  • Examined can bin. Full of trash, cans, and random splats of a viscous white fluid. Looked like semen but I wasn’t about to investigate deeply. Threw away can bin. Threw away the gloves I was wearing.
  • Found secret stash of rotting food between the sliding door and the subflooring. Actually, the ants found it and told me about it. Thanks ants.
  • Killed the ants. Sorry ants. Professional insect service scheduled to come out in a few weeks.
  • Washed out trash can with a hose. Seemed to be just ashes and dirt. Nothing like the can bin.
  • Wiped down all tables and chairs with ammonia solvent.
  • Cleaned all framed pictures near the microwave. They had black fluid splattered on them.
  • Cleaned the windows with ammonia solvent.
  • Cleaned the sliding glass door with ammonia solvent. Outside was splattered with unknown brown streak at approximately eye-level. Some kind of oil or tar-like substance. Wasn’t curious enough to investigate what it was.
  • Cleaned all door handles with ammonia solvent.
  • Washed all walls, cupboards and ceiling with ammonia solvent using a long sponge brush.
  • Vacuumed all shelves and carpets. Filled 2 canisters to full. Dirt, hair, glass shards, plastic shards, wood shavings, marijuana buds, marijuana leaves, unidentifiable powders both black and gray (ashes? Something else?), tissue with unknown purple fluid on it.
  • Threw away a bundle of my kid’s toys I was storing out there because they were coated in a selection of the above list.
  • Steam cleaned the carpets, beginning to end, twice. Dark black water. Took 17 tanks of cleaning solution in total. The entryway of the house--the dirtiest part of the house filled with cats and people--results in a light gray water on the same cleaning machine. Presumably so bad from smoke tar.
  • Leaf-blower on all concrete surfaces outside.
  • Picked up glass toys left strewn randomly outside. Approximately 4lbs of them in the end.
  • Picked up what appears to be 1 or 2 glass bottles worth of broken glass. Shards at random locations outside the view of the cameras, specifically in parking and walking areas. There were also unbroken glass toys in these areas.
  • Picked up about 15 screws in the dirt. All were new screws of the varieties I own that I store in the office. I am a psycho about picking up all sharps when working on projects so they weren’t from me.
  • Inventoried missing items and ordered their replacements if it was needed urgently. Needed replacement coffee maker, microwave, and digital caliper tool. Other items are missing but not required to be replaced because I have a lot of it on hand. I’ll replace shipping supplies when I need to ship something because I can’t use what I had on hand due to drug smoke penetrating the cardboard. This would be invariably flagged by a drug dog on any international shipments (about half of you are in Russia) so it’s best to replace it with new materials as the need arises.
  • (Daily)Moved sprinkler to random locations in yard to attempt to mitigate the smell. Gets a little better every day, and the summer sunshine is helping a lot. Hopefully we can stay above 90f to burn more of it off.

Still need to do:

  • Need to drain the pond completely and do a full maintenance on it. The water is orange and the local wildlife won’t drink from it. It is typically a drinking fountain for stray cats and raccoons, but now they look at it and walk away. Toxic for some reason. There aren’t even any frogs in it. Waiting for the sun to cook it a bit and for it to evaporate more so there’s less liquid to pump out.
  • Need to finish installing the AC unit after we do the ozone treatment. I don't want it to pick up a smoke smell.
