Monday update! ON A MONDAY!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience! Taxes took a couple extra days because the software was bugged and I had to do a huge portion manually, and I had some annoying bugs to fix in Besti X plus a ton of testing to do which also took a couple extra days.

This is a big post so let’s split it into categories!

New on the server this week:

Besti X 10.23 for PC in VR and 2D
Besti X 10.23 for Quest
Equigon Season 1 version 4 for PC in VR
Equigon Season 1 version 4 for Quest
Besti SDK 10.23 with a ton of new creation tools

WHEW. Now that’s an update! 7 freaking updates!? Let’s go into each one a little.

Besti X 10.23 adds interfaces for most of the tools I used to make Equigon, as well as a few others I made along the way. These are powerful enough to make a game like Besti 9, but can be used as simply as a way to distribute a VR experience instead of a video file if you’re an animator. Most of the tools relate to making choices/controlling gameplay and animations. Gaze selection, In-scene UIs, etc… It also includes an online credits feature that pulls the latest revision of the credits off the server. This is an option in the options section that you can enable or disable.
Equigon Season 1 Version 4 fixes a softlock bug (oops!) and makes various performance and functionality improvements that come from updating to Besti X 10.23.
Besti 9.98 has an updated credits sequence.
The Besti SDK has all the new tools to make things in it. The example scene (also built-in to Besti X) shows you how to use most of them. I haven’t made written documentation for these things yet but it’s on the way as soon as I can make it.
Besti Mobile on Android is a port of Besti 8 that I’m not sure I ever released in a wide way. It’s nice, and it works with or without a cardboard viewer.

Plans for this week

This week I’m going to get caught up on emails that I ended up behind on, I’ll fix bugs that folks send in, and I’ll work on Besti SDK documentation. All week I’ll be collecting data for what we’ll be starting next week via the survey that goes live today, so please spend some minutes this week going to the survey if you’re a producer or Ultros subscriber!

Here are the various things to choose between, and they’re all super good. I’m excited to make whichever one folks pick for me to do first, but if I picked without input it would be “Untitled game with portable friends.” or “Untitled game that Skunk had a literal dream about making.” These are fundamentally similar concepts and I want to do them both, immediately.

It’s worth mentioning that I’m going to make all of these, but since every one of them takes time I’d rather put that into your hands to see which one folks want the most. Note that almost all of them share a few common benefits like no-controller Oculus Quest tracking, and improved shaders/graphics. You get that with most choices because the Quest is the most affordable VR headset and is (in my opinion) the best VR experience, and to better support that device I want to use Vulkan instead of GLES3 on the Quest. Those require me to update many of the graphic systems, which will benefit everyone regardless of platform.

OPTION: Untitled Game that Skunk literally had a dream about making.

PORN OR NOT PORN: Porn in VR and 2D on PC and Oculus Quest

CONCEPT SUMMARY: Realistic or toony simulation of sexual encounter with a realistic feral mare and/or a semi-toony cartoon mare (I’ll ask Etheross, specifically, if he’s interested in taking a commission to create an original semi-toony design because he makes my favorite in this style, but I have a good idea for a semi-toony mare style if he isn’t available.) This deeply integrates lewd toys you already own, OR new, specifically-designed toys to further the experience. Toys aren’t required but will greatly enhance the experience.

This would be as realistic a sex-with-a-large realistic/fantasy creature simulation as possible with current technology. VR and 2D. Realistic depiction will be available for extreme content subscribers and will be produced first and will also have the more fetishy options that have been requested via email to spice it up.

This merges the design of the Extreme Content game with some new content I came up with in a dream to make something sort of new. It’s a game I want, personally, so I’m very motivated to make it.

Includes Crypto Store because I imagine many people will be more comfortable getting the kit with more discrete money than paypal/credit card because it’s a strange purchase.

OPTION: Untitled game with portable friends

SEXY GENRE: Furry/Pony. MF where you’re the male

CONCEPT SUMMARY: This would be a standalone lewd experience for VR only, but it would be really compelling when paired with the Besti toy stuff. Enhances the functionality of adult toys in an extremely unique way, and it also is directly related to a project I am working on with a company that produces adult toys for folks with our interests. You would like what we’ve worked on and I want to do what I can on my side to make that a real thing.

Without the specific physical product, this Miiiiight come off a little weird but it might not, too. I won’t know until it’s in beta. How do I put this… the concept here is to make plush toy-sized 3D things that can be manipulated around and interacted with as adult toys thanks to the Besti Toy device (or zip ties or a customized plush toy, etc…), but like, in VR, the plush-toy-sized thing is alive and it talks and moans and shit, right? I will endeavor to not make this terrifying to a percentage of people, but if you make something in the Besti SDK that would get you in trouble in Australia, don’t get cross with me.

...look all I’m saying is that I, personally, just want to fuck Judy Ho... a cartoon rabbit policewoman... and she’s a consenting adult matrix of triangles. I’ll give you a pony too, but good lord turn off your monitor because that’s going to scare somebody walking in on you.

TL/DR and deliberately without more clarification on what I’m saying: this would make extremely compelling VR fuckable plush toys (or just adult toys in general) that can be extended inside the Besti SDK, with neat very-well-designed products you can buy in the future.

OPTION: Untitled breeding helper simulation game

CONCEPT SUMMARY: Your daily job at the breeding center. Help large stallions breed with smaller creatures. Stallions are big, so they don’t quite know where they are in relation to the creature they’re mating with. They need your help to direct them and help them do this. Unique in that it’s a NSFW experience that is not you doing the mating. You’re an observer/assistant rather than the main participant. Extreme content subscribers get realistic human characters as the creatures being mated with; more fetish/fringe concepts, and will be worked on first.

OPTION: RTX Something

PORN OR NOT PORN: Porn in 2D and VR if I can get it to work properly.

SEXY GENRE: Haven’t decided yet.

CONCEPT SUMMARY: I have a 3000 series graphics card and want to make something that uses RTX. RTX support in Unity is still very very fishy but I’d like to make an RTX tech demo. I would spend a week making a porn cartoon which is something I haven’t done in a while and then you could watch the cartoon with RTX on if you have a supported card (2000 series or higher Nvidia or a new AMD card) though I’ll also render out a video and make a normally-rendered one as a Besti module using the Besti SDK.

TOOLS/BENEFITS:

See if RTX is in any way practical to implement right now. R&D.
Find workflow problems in converting 3D animations to VR experiences so I can make the tools easier to use.

TIME ESTIMATE: 1 week of animating then 1 week making the RTX test. 2 weeks total and I don’t see a situation where this one goes over this estimate unless I got sick or something. I might do a livestream hangout while animating because it’s super boring.
