Clarification to My Supporters about the Brigade Just a… (SubscribeStar)

Just a followup post to my followers over on Patreon.  I'm reposting everything over here so that I can keep you guys in the loop:

"Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgement, often evoking in them cognitive dissonance and other changes such as low self-esteem."

This post is meant for my followers and potential followers.

All of these trolls were replying on public Patreon posts so this is publicly available information.  Do not interact with people in these posts.  Do not harass them and do not engage in direct fighting.  They are here to troll.

I think at this point I have to address this.

What this post is meant to is to show to my supporters that this is a 100% Gaslighting/Troll Brigade.  They're essentially Doomsaying and trying to convince as many people as they can that their falsehoods and hyperbole are truth.  They are here to try and make you jump at shadows and run from boogeymen that don't exist.

Their arguments seem to come down to two points, Netorare and Mel.

NTR or Netorare is typically referred to when the object of the protagonists affection is taken from them.

In regards to my game, I've seen people define it almost every which way:

-NTR is when Jake doesn't get 100% of the girls(emotionally/physically) and a harem.

-NTR exists but only because of player choice.

-NTR doesn't exist because Jake, as a character, is never having anyone stolen from him.

Personally, I think NTR's existence within my game is actually a gray area.  A lot of the times it depends on how you choose to perceive things.  Body Swapping also throws a large wrench into what qualifies as  NTR.  That's why I don't deny that it's in my game.  I have no problem with saying it exists in my game or being tagged as such.

What I do have a problem with is that these people are trying to Deplatform and cause trouble on my posts whenever something even ambiguously NTR comes up, for instance the Mel x Cassandra post(who are boyfriend and girlfriend).  It doesn't fit their vision of a harem game, so everything becomes NTR.  This leads into them trying to rebrand my game as an NTR simulator even though I believe this game is more than any one kink.

I also have to reiterate that people are allowed to like or dislike whatever they want.  Just because someone doesn't like NTR, it doesn't mean they're part of the Brigade.  Just because someone thinks it's NTR because Jake doesn't have a Harem, it doesn't mean they're part of the Brigade, either.  It's mainly the fighting, and attacking my income I have a problem with.  They've even admitted to trying to chase away potential fans (see header image).

As for Mel, I actually made a short character breakdown.  They're main argument against him is that he's one dimensional.  He's an alpha and he's there to steal Jake's girls.  That Mel is the favorite.  I actually think he's got a fair amount of depth to him.  I expected people to get rubbed the wrong way by him at the start and as the player interacts with him, comes to like him a little more over time.  I didn't expect a Gaslighting Brigade over it.

So, what's happening is that people saw some character traits, jumped to the conclusion that I expected them to, but instead of either putting the game down or exploring his character further, they label my game as an NTR simulator and start a Brigade.

Anyways, this is just to confirm to my followers that this IS happening.  Do not let anyone try to trick you into thinking that this isn't.

Again, do not respond or harass any of these people.

And just because someone doesn't like NTR it doesn't mean they're apart of the Brigade.  It's the combativeness and disinformation that does that.  Not liking my game is fine.  Trying to go out of your way to destroy it isn't.
