Shax Redesigned (Patreon)

Since I wanted to draw more less frequently used characters again, I figured it would be a good time to break out one of my oldest ones: "Shax". I first drew him back in 2011, because I wanted to draw a Koopa but couldn't really pull off Bowser's shell, so I promptly made him into an "original" creation without one. 

Over the years I tried a few design variations and this is another attempt in coming up with a new design for him. My friend PoppinZan helped me out some and provided ideas of his own. Thanks a lot buddy! :3

I'm still not entirely satisfied and want to flesh him out more, but have been unable to find the right ideas so far. Still though, this was a fun little distraction before the onslaught of commissions, comics and more. ;3
