Stegz & Akuro (Patreon)

Ho boy, where to begin with this one?

I've drawn quite a bunch of pictures for my good buddy Akuro over the years. We share quite a few interests, most notably a passion for the cartoon series Extreme Dinosaurs - some of you might remember that drawing them was actually how I got started with doing furry art. I have always wanted to return to it, but the issue with ensemble shows is just the number of characters involved. I can never be content with just drawing one, because my brain immediately starts coming up with ideas involving more and more characters and then I just buckle under the sheer amount of work.

So for this, I actually had an agenda: I wanted to draw something for Akuro as a token of my appreciation of his friendship over the years and it was also an excuse to try out a sort of compostion that was inspired by the great works of the incredibly talented artist gerkk. So I set out to draw something where I paired Akuro with his favorite dinosaur from the show, Stegz. Despite this being a considerable amount of work, I was surprised at how easy it came together. I made sure my workflow never stopped, so I wouldn't risk losing interest. It was a challenge and it definitely took its toll as I was exhausted by the end of it, but I'm glad I powered through it.

So this was a fun experience and also gave me the opportunity to draw something that I have wanted for years now. Feels good to have that off my back and now I can get back to bigger projects!
