I wanted to pick up a challenge and work on a more challenging piece using a new process. Initially the idea was to paint the values and later add colors, but it's a process I still don't feel confident enough doing, so I haven't used the greyscale beyond the sketch phase.

At the sketching stage, the greyscale helped me with bodies volumes and depth, which is the reason why I've also slightly shaded the lineart. There are some elements of the body I struggle stylizing in lines; adding shadows helps me visualize their 3D shape which I can later reduce to lines.

This is also the first time I've used 3D models to build the base structure; while tracing the model makes your outcome look stiff, using them to set angle, proportions and poses won't affect the natural look of the final result!
