I dunno how long I've been watching your reactions but it's been awesome to watch you go through my favorite story Boom. It's been awesome to see you experience my favorite parts of the story and to see you enjoyment for the series grow! Also, you picking up on the ties to Luffy and the sun is one of my favorite things because he literally has been tied to sun for a long long time, him coming out of the rubble at Arlong Park, Vivi's speech about a dark ocean and a small ship asking "can you see that light," making the sun come out in skypiea, there's so so many instances of the sun and it's ties to Luffy (the ship is literally called the 1000 sunny lol) that I get annoyed when people try to say that this whole thing was some kind of retcon

Also the Sun Pirates, founded by someone who freed slaves with a crew consisting of freed slaves. I'm not caught up with the manga, so I don't know whether it'll come up again, but there's no way that their name and tattoo is coincidence. Another thing is the theme of liberation, which has gone through every single thing Luffy has done. You can go as far back as Luffy meeting Coby, who is the first person he freed from slavery (on Alvida's ship).
