I've got a summer full of field work to do and it all starts next week. For the first 3 weeks of June, I'll be working on emperor geese in Alaska, surgically implanting satellite transmitters that allow biologists to better understand their movements, their site fidelity for breeding, interconnectedness of populations, important habitats to protect, and all kinds of cool stuff. We've been working on this for about 3 years now and hope to wrap it up this coming winter. It takes me to some places waaay off the beaten track which also means I'm almost completely out of touch for periods of time. Anyway, don't be sad if I don't respond for a while next month. It just means I'm doing science. I'll let you know when I'm back!
