Hey, Patrons! It's that time of the month again where we just wanted to make sure you've seen the most recent yuzu Progress Report!  This one also comes with a short sneak peak of Project Hades, our shader compiler rewrite, which we promise you will be released very soon! Hades aims to fix many graphical issues currently in yuzu, and improve performance across the board.

Continue reading this progress report on our website!

In addition to this, we'd like to call out a few other recent improvements that were not called out in our blog post.

First, we released a new feature we call The Reaper, which periodically frees up GPU memory. This should make many games that suffered from memory leaks (example: Xenoblade Chronicles 2) run much better. This is still an experimental feature, so you'll need to manually enable it by going to Configure/Graphics/Advanced Graphics, and then selecting "Enable GPU caches garbage collection (unsafe)". While our testing has shown that this feature works well in most games, it can occasionally cause glitches. And to make Xenoblade Chronicles 2 even more enjoyable in yuzu, we've also recently fixed DLC for this game!

Second, if you want to see the maximum performance your PC can deliver with yuzu, we've added a feature to unlock framerates! You can enable this by going to Configure/General/Debug, and then selecting "Unlimit Framerate (Experimental)". Note, this will not make games run "full speed" at higher framerates – instead, games will run faster than expected. It's mostly just for fun and benchmarking yuzu and your PC!

As always – thank you! We would not be able to work on yuzu as much as we do without all of your amazing support.

And just to be clear, we really hope the next update you'll be seeing from us is Project Hades!

I noticed that XC2 actually launched with the DLC enabled after this latest patch. Thank you!

I would love to fix an old problem with audio in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. The audio is distorted and delayed, where the sound is played after the action.
