Lady Bone Demon is an unusual villain. In that her goals are difficult to understand. For context, the premise of JttW is that Tang Monk and his three disciples (Wukong "Pigsy" and "Sandy") travel to the Buddha's monastery in India to retrieve the Buddha's Sacred Texts. These texts were said to have the power to purify souls and lead humanity down the path of righteousness. They were Buddha's gift to the human race, but they had to be earned. Tang Monk was the best example of humanity, so he was sent on the quest to prove if they were worthy. And to make the test especially challenging, the Jade Emperor, under Buddha's advisement, spread a humor among the demon community that if they ate Tang Monk's flesh they'd become immortal. However, LBD never tried to eat Tang Monk. She used her powers to frame Wukong for the murder of three innocent people, so his friends would cast him aside, leaving the group vulnerable. But instead of attacking herself, she just stepped back and let the group get captured by the next demon lord on their path to India. She never wanted to attain immortality, she only wanted the Monk to fail. She wanted to doom humanity.
