Early Update 8/23: Charge Up Front (Patreon)

Hey guys just wanted to let you all know about another change I was making that affects monthly charging.

New Patrons Charged When They Join

So I’m gonna switch to upfront charging which means that new pledges will be charged up front when they join rather than at the end of the month. For anyone new who’s curious to what’s here before they pledge, I clearly outline what the rewards are every week on my Twitter as well as post a schedule of future rewards.

Current Patrons

According to Patreon’s rules which I’ve reviewed over and over, people already pledged right now won’t be charged until the first of September like usual. It’s just that charge will be for the upcoming work in September, not for this month’s work. And the charge on October 1st will be for the work in October. And so on.

Why I’m changing it

This is pretty standard among fellow Patreon artists and helps preventing people who just pledge to see patron only work and then unsub to avoid paying. Because as I’ve said before I want loyal patrons to be the only ones getting rewarded for their support.

Which brings me to another issue, leaking of patron-only work. Hopefully this new charging system minimizes that since leakers can’t just sign up, get work, and cancel without ever paying. I’m sure it’ll still be an issue, but hopefully this helps.

With that said I promise to always have you guys’ rewards every week as advertised unless there’s an extreme emergency, so that your monthly pledges are worth it. I keep my workload four weeks ahead of what I post here, so you can always be sure that you’ll get a month’s worth of comics and pinups.
