My interpretation of Orchid, the solarpunk bunny girl who appears in various of Aelius's artwork and writings. She's the focus of his story "The Scout", and if audiobooks are more your thing, there's a narration by The Voice of Dog!

And since I usually get puzzled looks whenever I mention it, there's a rabbit-moon connection I learned as a kid in South Africa. There (and in other places) the craters of the moon are said to resemble a rabbit, at least when one squints hard enough. Besides that, night scenes just lend themselves to glowy plants in a world where such things exist.

As a bonus, I'm adding a work-in-progress sketch, rough as it may be. Is that something I should do more often with these posts? Lemme know!

Yay new content! Love it! My favorite artist!

Goddamn_Bats

Amazingly vivid detail!

Othello

IIRC Japanese culture has the same rabbit/moon connection, yeah. There's a rabbit character in Animal Crossing whose room is completely moon-themed.

kalahari

I had a feeling this was a Japanese thing too! The Animal Crossing connection is really neat. I hadn't heard of that but I love it.

He is going to love this

Adleisio Cefnfor

I really enjoy seeing the WIP for pieces of art, shows more how the artist was thinking.

Brocade

She looks fantastic! I love this aesthetic!

Little Napoleon

It's so unique to see nighttime rendered in a warm light rather than a cool one. Really beautiful, well done! WIP sketches are always welcome! I love seeing how they evolve!

kalahari

I was thinking that too. I do like seeing WIPs to get a sense of other artists' process, which is usually just a black box!

Tygepc

This is amazing! You captured her so well. Very nice job! Love the shading, the lighting. Those details are amazing! The metal of the spear, the texture of her paws. Man, this is some incredible work! You really went above and beyond for this. Very cool. Also, I love the Voice of Dog podcast. Good stories in there.
