Magmag story time!~ 🙌

So early 2017, just a lil more than half a year of being on DeviantArt as Magnolia-Baillon, I was contacted by lostonezero who wanted to commission me for his first guestbook! :0 I thought 'Omg!! This is so cool! Loz-senpai is reaching out to me about this awesome project!' And of course, I accepted the commission to draw for him, got the characters selected, worked on it amidst my schoolwork, and got it sent in a while later~ I couldn't wait to see my work amongst other amazing DiD artists I've admired for so long; it was like a dream-come-true for a relative newcomer to the scene like me! :D
Loz finally released Volume 1 a few months later but... this drawing wasn't included? :/ Huh.. that's strange. I got a note from him later saying that he got so many artists involved that he had to split up all the works into another volume. Oki, that's totally fine~ But me being me, I started get a lil paranoid, and wondered if that was just an excuse, and that he didn't like this drawing and wanted it excluded... .       _   . I started to really get in my own head, but I took it all as a sign that my art was still not good enough in quality, so I started to pay a lot more attention and spend a lot more time on drawings than I did previously, to make sure I was meeting this higher standard I now expected of myself.
Loz eventually released Volume 2 in Jan. 2018, and... this drawing still wasn't included XP Some friends in this art circle I was in had worked on their guestbook drawing later in 2017, and were still included before me... Hmmmm, so at that point I took it as a sign that loz really didn't like my drawing for him XP haha Loz expressed differently in another note I got from him tho, saying he did like it and would include it in Volume 3.
Coming up now on almost two years since Volume 2 was released, I rediscovered this old drawing in one of my folders XP I decided to contact loz about it since I would be pretty embarrassed to have my old art appear in guestbook volume 3, and I asked if I could redo it or start over and do an entirely new one. I also asked if I could share this old drawing if so~ He said that he didn't have immediate plans to do a Volume 3, but that I could still share this drawing if I wanted to and that he'd reach out again in case he does go through with a Volume 3.
And so, here we are~ XP Sharing this never-before-seen-except-for-a-couple-people drawing from almost three years ago! (/ ｡    ◁ﾟ)/ wooo~

Just to clarify, I harbor no ill-will towards loz at all~ He was especially kind in all of our communication and I really thank him for the opportunity. Plus, it was my first commissioned piece ever, so I felt pretty proud that I was paid for my artwork for the first time! :3 I'm sure he had his reasons not to include this in his guestbook, and if anything, this whole experience got me to start paying a lot more attention to the quality of my drawings and to continue developing my skills as an artist. I thought this drawing looked pretty good at the time, but looking at it now I can see quite a few things I wish I could fix XP
