And so the 2nd invasion of Geonosis continues. Two wonderful episodes once again. I really enjoyed the comparison between Anakin and Ahsoka's master/padawan dynamic to the more standard dynamic that Luminara and Barriss have. Especially towards the end of the first episode where it shows how much Yoda's plan, when he assigned Ahsoka to Anakin, already backfired. Anakin not even bothering with a response when Luminara says she's prepared to let her student go said so much more than words could've. Ahsoka and Barriss dynamic was also great to watch throughout. It's a bit of an "opposites attract" sort of friendship or at this point rather still comradery between the two. The 2nd episode went full zombie horror and excelled at putting a Star Wars twist on it. I kinda love that contrary to most zombie depictions, the Geonosian zombies can't be killed with a simple headshot, because they are being controlled by the worms. The effect of the milky white glowing eyes was also phenomenal. Overall very spooky and very fun. Also Obi Wan was really something in the 2nd episode, some of his comments were so completely out of pocket. When Anakin becomes the voice of reason, you know we've got a problem. What I also appreciate about this whole arc is how truly interconnected it is from episode to episode. Even with the story break of the main invasion being over, characters like Luminara and Ki-Adi Mundi still appear throughout. Also stuff like Barriss and Ahsoka appearing at the start of the 2nd episode and being flown off in a gunship to rest after their mission. Like these people aren't just there for the start or middle of the invasion, i.e. the one episode where they get their focus. They are constantly present. Great stuff.

2024-01-18 16:21:41 To further elaborate on 2x6, they are giving hints towards Anakin's turn to the dark side. The whole him not willing to accept that Ahsoka might be lost is what the Jedi call attachment. Of course, to us humans, it is normal to be worried about someone's safety and if they are alive. but Jedi consider this type of human emotion a path to the dark side. Yoda talks about that to Anakin the Revenge of the Sith. "Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is." Anakin, unlike other Jedi knights, never learned to let go and accept that someone's time might be over. Of course, we know that's how he became Vader, trying to save Padme, while it ended up being him that ended up causing her death. We knew that Ahsoka was going to survive but it was still a nice little touch to give everyone a bit of foreshadowing.
