2023-10-07 07:26:47 I am going to try and do my best to break down this episode chronologically and maybe you'll understand it more. This episode is on the same timeline no divergent paths. Opening where they are chasing Loki is in the past give or take at least 4 hundred years, will explain how we know this later. When he time shifts the first time is the current date. Why is there no wall of Kang faces in the current date? probably because he covered them up and removed all other statues of himself and then erased everyone's memories and created the new history that the great time keepers fixed everything. We get the big chat between Loki and Mobius about not remembering having his memory erased on our way to meet probably my favorite character of the episode Ouroboros (OB). Here we have the conversation between Mobius and OB about the last time they met, Mobius being Mobius tries to play off that he still remembers OB but of course he doesn't and that is why we know it was at least 4 hundred years because Mobius doesn't remember meeting OB. Why hasn't Kang erased OB memories simple, because OB has always been down where he is and has only ever dealt with Miss Minutes. Finally Loki time shifts to the future now this we don't know how long it has been. Loki goes running around trying to find a time stick, why doesn't he conjure one because he is in the TVA and his powers don't work there. Why did Loki stop running, well what do people do when they think they have lost they stop plain and simple. Or he actually sensed that Silvie was behind the elevator doors. Where were all the time cops going with all that stuff, my thinking is that they are creating a makeshift base where they plan on pruning timelines. Now my thoughts on the episode, I loved this from start to finish. He Huy Quan (OB) is great casting. He Huy Quan is also a legend to a lot of people (Goonies, Everything Everywhere All at Once to name a couple, disappeared from acting for almost 20 years too) and he is the highlight of this episode for sure. Amazing solid first episode for a season 2 premier.

Why did Loki stop running, well after a couple of re-watches, the phone ringing seemed to make him sense he needed to stop there, and it can't be a coincidence that exactly where the phone was ringing was the exact same spot where Silvie was about to appear and also where someone was ready to prune him from behind. Who pruned Loki from behind? I think it possibly could be Renslayer but who knows it could be a number of different people. Retro Tom

I was one who thoroughly enjoyed Loki season 1 & still think it's the best of the marvel Studios shows. I think this was a great start but I will try to reserve my hype for now because I did praise Secret Invasion only to see it sputter out in the 2nd half. I'm remaining optimistic that this won't happen again I'm glad they finally released season 1 on 4K blu-ray here in the U.S. as the show looks so beautiful in 4K HDR, even the drab TVA colors look good
