Sorry but it appears she watched them in the wrong order, this is totally my fault with the files I provided. Don't think it affected the reaction much.

Hah, had a feeling she wouldn't like this. It was definitely interesting to watch with her though!

Its definitely a comedy that appeals to only a portion of the population. Older generations or those that find the older comedies humorous. Many comedies used racial stereo types in their humor were common in the 702 and 80s. They were not promoting these but showing how silly these stereo types are. Examples like Till Death Us Do Part or the US version All In The Family. The violence was typical of slapstick comedy. This type of humor had its heyday in the 40s and 50s but still do this day appeals to people. Examples like The 3 Stooges, The Little Rascals, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Once again the person acting violent is usually the butt of the joke and often is hurt the worse. That or possibly some other person of ill will will be the one injured.

I knew it was highly likely she wouldn't like it. But the whole point of this months picks was for her to try new shows she wouldn't normally do.

Tony

Actually, that is incorrect. The point was to try things outside the box, shows she'd normally wouldn't consider doing and see if something could potentially be a contender to become a new show on the channel. No decisions have been made on that and it's unclear if anything will ever even come of this, perhaps more will be said once all selections are done. Nothing is set in stone.

Exactly what I said is a show she wouldn't normally do. She would of never considered doing Fawlty Towers as it is older than she normally likes and is the type of comedy she doesnt normally find funny. Knowing this I would of normally never picked the show. It was worth trying as it is different from her normal shows and if she did like this it would opened the door too a vast number of other similar shows.

Tony

Again, incorrect. The point behind this special month wasn't as you suggest to solely pick some show she normally wouldn't do, the main reason behind the idea for this special month was to potentially find a suitable replacement for Arrowverse. Broadening her eyes to a larger range of selections was just a small part of it, a means to an end to achieve our goal. Again, whether we have or haven't found a replacement is yet undecided. Not all selections are done yet and we might go in an entirely different direction altogether.

A British comedy show a bit more modern and possibly more to your liking might be the IT Crowd.
