One of my all time favorite shows. I dont know if you liked it since im writing this before i watch your reaction but i hope you continue with the series if you enjoyed. Yes the actor did have cancer and even filmed the show during it, he had to wear a wig i believe at one point because of it. He did beat it and is still alive today. What i love about Dexter is hes not just a serial killer but serial killer that only kills people that deserve it. Well it turns out you didnt care for it much, maybe if it gets selected again you will start to enjoy it more or maybe not, either way is fine. Im just happy you gave it a chance with this pilot.

When I first started watching Dexter, I thought it was odd, kind of disturbing and off-putting, but I kept watching. It took a few episodes and I still wasn't loving it, but I started to find it intriguing so I kept going with it and then I ended up loving it with season 4 being my definite favorite.

It's a shame you won't be continuing Dexter, you will miss a lot of actors from other shows you like with completely different roles. I would think you would be impressed with their acting abilities.

I get what you're saying about how you like movies and TV shows to be escapism. There are enough real world problems, so why would you want to watch something that is more or less realistic? I think what you're missing though is, how realistic is it really, that a serial killer vigilante can operate right under the nose of the homocide unit he works in? In the real, world, someone like him would be found out very quickly. Plus, someone that feels nothing inside like him wouldn't be able to fake being as charming and sociable as he is. He is too smart and to careful to be real. Let's face it, he might as well be a comic character, from a very dark comic or graphic novel lol.

I honestly dont even think hes a sociopath or a psychopath, what i fully believe is that whatever happened to dexter before he started living with his foster dad messed him up and the foster dad just never got him the real help he needed so he became like this. Even in this episode, you can see him feel some things, he just doesnt think he does.
