Yeah, they used this show as half a story about Boba Fett and half about Mando, with the team up in the last episode. A lot of people were saying the show got really good when Mando showed up. But he did kind of hijack the show.

On rewatch it feels like weird filler, but I still like it. My head-logic is that not all chapters in a book focus on the main character. Lots of little easter eggs in this episode. The ship that he got at the end is from Naboo (Anakin flew one in Phantom Menace!), the little BD droid is from the video games, one of the ship parts was from the trash compactor on the Death Star in A New Hope.
