It's not a conflict of interest to have your lawyer be a family member since they are defending you. If the lawyer prosecuting you is a family member then it would be a conflict of interest since they might go easy on you.

Laurel being a family friend and son's ex girlfriend during Moira's trial on Arrow would have been a conflict of interest since she was prosecuting. The show said as much and hand waved it away, but it absolutely would have been. Cecil was already in a relationship with Joe when she defended Barry. But as defense, not a conflict of interest.

When a lawyer is held in contempt by the judge during a trial they go to jail. Usually for a day or two.

Yeah. Outside of small towns I doubt it would even be allowed. Even if the defendant agreed to it I think it would be grounds for overturning a conviction in an appeal.
