Declan deserved a lot better but keep watching season 3 is so much drama. I think Declan was at Greyson Global looking for Charlotte cuz she said her and Daniel were there during the blackout. I really liked him too though. Definitely better than Charlotte as a character and the Regina storyline was so pointless. This episode really upped Conrad's place on the evil-scale though. Playing god in the inner circle of a company creating and profiting off world disasters? Ok dude.

Yeah this show is wild i would go so far as to say there are no good guys here its just various degress of villains and the collateral damage they leave in their wake.

Regarding Declan, from what i read the writers didn't know what else to do with his character so they killed him off.

The below is copy pasted from TV guide. While Connor Paolo, who plays Declan, declined an exit interview, Nick Wechsler, who plays Jack and guessed that Paolo would not survive the season, says, “Connor wasn’t happy. But he also took it like a champ. I think on some level he was preparing himself for it because he knew he wasn’t being used that much.” After two seasons, the character failed to click with most fans, and Wechsler believes that’s because “the writers had a hard time finding a purpose for everyone, and he ended up not getting serviced.”

He was looking for Charlotte since he just found out she was pregnant and was just looking everywhere he could. Also, what the previous poster said. She did lie and say her and Daniel were there so that actually perfectly explains it.

He definitely became less grey and more black hat evil in this episode, but it never surprised me. He never seemed too guilt ridden over his role in everything to begin with. He was far too quick to throw others under the bus again or boat, even.

True I wasn't surprised he didn't have a conscience but it was wild the show went there with the Greyson's having global reach. I know they were Manhattan social scene royalty but that was further reaching than I had expected.
