I understand how you feel, but sometimes there isn't enough time in a show to explain everything the best way possible. Especially towards the end of a season. You then somtimes have to rush things (a bit). Simply because their is not enough time for entire backstory episodes or surprise stories. They do work better, but sometimes you have to work with what's possible. The same goes for the snow queen's scrol. Perfect solution? No, but at this point there is no time left for new stories or discovieres. Also this way it at least is some what difficult to leave and get back in. Because if there would be multiple ways that would counteract the idea of how difficult it's supposed to be leave and or enter Storybrooke. Next I agree this season of OUAT isn't that good, you've explained why perfectly. Finally, I would say it would (perhaps) have been better if you had watched this with more open mind. I think you would hav enjoyed it more. However, you have seen far more TV shows then I ever have and will. So you can judge this much better than I can, you are the expert after all.

I hope you have more of an open mind in season 5.

About Emma, Snow and Charming didn’t make it impossible for her to do bad/dark things. Every person starts out as a blank slate with an equal chance of becoming light or dark/good or bad, but in Emmas case if she had been born on the dark side of that scale, she would have become the darkest villain in existence. All Snow and Charming did was ensure that Emma was born on the light side of that scale so she would become the savior, but that doesn’t mean Emma doesn’t still have the potential for darkness. If the darkness was completely taken out of her, she wouldn’t have been able to shoplift with Neal or steal her car, steal the watches etc. So although she was ensured to become the savior, she still has the potential for darkness within her.

I don't think you're being over-critical of the season, I think there is just a lot of stuff to be critical about. There are always going to be people who don't like when someone has problems with a show and I don't necessarily blame them. I know that I have a few shows that I really enjoy and although I know they aren't perfect, I do feel defensive when someone criticizes the show. Some people make excuses for why you shouldn't be too hard on a show, but the only acceptable reasons to me are things outside of the show's control, like the network screwing them over or a pandemic. I haven't seen this brought up recently but I want to address it again in case it does come up. Some people suggest that if you are currently having problems with a show you should just drop it. This is where I like to bring up Arrow as the counter to the argument. I'm pretty sure people (including me) had problems with season 4 of Arrow. However, if I just dropped the show, I would have never been able to enjoy season 5. Sometimes, people just want to push through in hopes that things get better or simply to see things through until the end. The main point is that I think your critiques are perfectly valid and that you should continue to be honest. People should watch your reactions to see and hear your opinions, not to hear their own opinions reflected. If that's what they want, they can record their own videos or talk to themselves in a mirror.

I don't think not having enough time is a good reason for something not be well explained. Once Upon a Time has about the same amount of episodes each season, so that is something that they should be able to account for. If they need more time for main storylines, cut some of the sub plots. It might suck to get rid of something you want, but if you need the time, then you just got to make room. I don't really have a problem with the scroll, but I do have a problem with the Will and Belle romance storyline that came out of nowhere. If they really wanted that storyline, then they needed to make space by cutting something else to develop it, because it doesn't really make sense. If they didn't want to cut something else out, then they should not have had it and used that time for something else.

I agree the romance of Will and Belle is very strange. It was there out of the blue and we never got an explanation. They could have cut that part. Personally I've no problem with the scroll myself either. But It's very easy to say: "but if you need the time, then you just got to make room". since we don't know why the writers choose to do the story this way and what other ideas they had and what might not have made the cut. However, could they have done a better job this season? Yes, without a doubt. Finally, I agree that 'not enough time' isn't a good argument.

I mostly agree with what your opinion Luis. But, I think the "currently having problems...." part has more to do with people noticing that Shan hasn't had as much fun as in previous seasons watching OUAT. Therefore they bring up that if you she no longer enjoys watching OUAT they advise her to consider stopping with this show. However, some of those people are going way to far and sometimes become even rude. And that's never acceptable. Personally I believe she could have been a bit more open minded, because she then might have enjoyed this lesser season a bit more. Still I of course respect her opinion and her critiques are indeed perfectly valid and she should continue to be honest.. And with this season of OUAT I agree for the most part with what she said.

I see your point. I suppose it's like the Walking Dead with my brother. He really enjoyed the show to begin with, but eventually decided to stop watching it because he hadn't been enjoying it for a couple seasons. We'll have to see how next season goes. I don't really know what people in general think about the different seasons since I binge watched the show only a couple of years ago and have really talked with people about their thoughts on the show.

I dont get your complaint about the scroll, if they have a way then why not use it? Why do they need to think of a new way every single time they leave and come back? Your complaint doesnt make sense to me.

I completely appreciate and respect your opinions. I think that the ratio may just be a bit skewed at times. It feels like you have way more criticisms than positive comments which can come across as a bit harsh to people who are really big fans! I appreciate your honesty, but for next season I just wanted to say I think the balance of comments may be part of why people are upset. For example, the relationship between Emma and Regina was so strong and interesting this episode, it would have been nice to see more acknowledgment of that along with your other critiques!

This is the main flaw with doing this show as a binge and release. People have been upset with how negative she has been (this season has been bad) and wish she would focus a little more on the good things like you suggested. Had she been watching this weekly like she does some of her other shows she could maybe have adjusted (or not) her approach. Maybe give a little time to what she enjoyed about the episode. With binging the entire season peoples frustrations just keep compounding because she obviously can't listen to any constructive criticism until she watches the next season.

Totally agree. I feel bad about that as well and don’t want to pile on! I hope I wasn’t too harsh with my comment.

the answer is yes and you overthinking

Criticism is always great! I think this season we start seeing way too many convenient storylines as you mentioned before. The scroll, Emma's friend Lily being Maleficent's daughter (which is still a cool twist). Also, really weird that Will and Belle's relationship is never explained (not even in the spin-off). The show doesn't acknowledge Belle as a character enough and feels like they added this "story" to make her seem more interesting when it just doesn't match. Season 4 isn't my favorite season but I do hope you enjoy the final 3 seasons!

The apprentice said it would take away her potential for darkness he didn’t say Emma couldn’t be dark. Remember Emma was doing criminal acts so this was a potential
