So yeah, the reason they knew that woman was doomed is that was Janis Joplin. She was a very famous singer that died within a year or so of Woodstock. That's who they were talking about at the end of the episode.

The reason the actor (Keiynan Lonsdale) decided not return as kid flash was because he wanted to do other things (branching out) and therefore no longer had time for a full-time role in the Arrowverse. As for the horse scene in the Brothers Grimm. Decided to look it up, I can understand how that could traumatize a child.

Sing it to the rooftops Shan should know this! What a casting! If you go back to Season 3 the episode where the Legends go to the 80s to rescue Ray’s younger self. There’s a scene where Nate is dressed in a tracksuit and wiping down a Delorean a clear reference to Back to the Future with Biff wiping down Marty’s family cars. I don’t think they knew they were gonna cast Biff as his dad but what a precursor

I belive there were other references to back to the future in LOT the other that come to mine is in Beboo God of War episode, the one after Martin dies, and how Back to the Future is one of his wife's favorite movies. I think there is also another episode they mention back to the future but I can't remember right now.

Legends is my favorite arrowverse show because how crazy the show can get sometimes, they embraced themselves and most of the things they do only legends can pull off, they never take themselves too seriously but can be serious when it needs to be. Its the perfect balance. Hope you enjoy the season.

Shan, Caity Lotz said at ComicCon, before the Season began, that Legends has evolved into a more comedic show. And mourning, and talking about one's father dying isn't very funny. She said Sara did her mourning over the summer. It's so cool they cast Biff from Back to the Future as Nate's dad. This is a show about time travel! We've always known the same Ava. In last season's premiere, Rip told Ava the Legends were like a "chainsaw" compared to a "scalpel". He reminded Ava about that conversation in the penultimate episode. Rip had run the Bureau for 5 years, he most likely went through all the other Avas during that time before we met this Ava in last season's premiere. And we always watched this Ava's character development.

Possibly another BTS issue with connecting shows is they don't have a shared showrunner anymore. Marc Guggenheim was a showrunner for both Arrow and Legends previously, so it was probably easier to connect the shows because he would be in charge of the main plots of both. With Guggenheim leaving that role and taking a backseat as a "consulting producer" for both shows, maybe the different showrunners of Arrow/Legends didn't communicate much.

My feeling is Rip wanted his own Sara Lance in the Bureau, only one more disciplined and who would follow his orders without question. The AVA clones certainly filled that bill, at least until one began to develop into her own person.
