Zoso is the Dark One Rumple killed when he became the Dark One.

Disney15ish

I don't know why, but whenever I see this episode I'm always impressed that they were able to keep that continuity. Bringing back a S1 1 episode guest star back years later. They could have easily just introduced a new previous Dark One but decided to get Zoso back.

I love and truly understand Hook's reasoning for wanting his hand back, as he wishes to be whole for Emma. To be able to hold Emma with two hands instead of just one hand and a hook. Killian doesn't just feel less of a man for having only one hand, but the reason why Gold is able to manipulate him so easily by making Killian believe his hand is cursed, is because Killian is very insecure about himself as a hero. Deep down, he fears that he isn't good enough for Emma, and to him his hook is a symbol of the villain he used to be. Killian is definitely a romantic like Gold teases him about. And I feel that while he has accepted his hook as a part of himself in the two hundred years he was a pirate and a villain since he's met Emma and has worked so hard to change to become a better man... his hook has become more of a reminder of the man he used to be and a part of him is afraid Emma will always be reminded of the villain he used to be so long as he keeps his hook as well. So Gold's way of manipulating him is perfect, and just cruel. Gold believes he knows Hook better than he knows himself, and all of this is why I love their rivalry so much. As for Hook refusing to believe Gold when Gold tells Hook what will happen if he takes his hand back... that Hook's hand will cause him to fall back into the selfish pirate and villain he used to be... I can also understand why Hook doesn't trust him, because the Dark One lies and tricks just like Gold says as he mocks Hook in the end. And sadly, Gold gets so deep inside Killian's head, that Killian falls for the Crocodile's manipulations. However, Killian also has every right to suspect that Gold might have done something to his hand, or that he is simply lying too. Either way... all magic comes with a price and Hook most certainly pays a big price in this episode. Now he's unfortunately in Gold's debt for the foreseeable future. I just love this new storyline between Hook and Gold. :) I really love the simplicity of Killian constantly looking down at his hand out of fear of what it's doing to him thanks to Gold getting inside his head and messing with him. I absolutely love how Colin O'Donoghue keeps with this fear of his hand turning him all throughout the episode. It's smart and it adds so much to who his character has grown to become. While Killian is now a hero, he doesn't believe it most days because he doesn't believe in himself. His fear of falling back into being Captain Hook is phenomenal, and him fearfully starring down at his hand often adds so much to it. Fabulous! :) Then... in the end we have one final scene between Killian and Gold once again inside Gold's shop. I love this scene, as the two rivals come to a bitter understanding between one another, as we learn that Gold didn't actually curse Hook's hand, but simply preyed on Killian's fear and hatred for him, and Killian's hatred for himself. This is what allows Gold to get Killian to fall back into his old ways. Because Killian feared it so much, that he instinctively acted without realizing what was really happening to him. I feel so bad for Killian, because he falls perfectly into Gold's trap. Gold/Rumplestiltskin is brilliant. He lies and tricks, just like he warns Killian he does. Just like Killian knows about him. There's so much good to come! :)
