Chess Red Eagle

The in-fighting did get annoying but I actually really liked this episode and especially their little brawl towards the end. I think they both needed to get a LOT off their chests. This was bound to happen eventually.

Wyatt

Okay... before I start, I will say from 33:10 to 33:40 Oliver is right and makes some good points. However from 31:25 to 32:36, Diggle is 100% correct. Just from a logical standpoint, if everyone you are leading has a problem with your leadership, maybe listen to them. Diggle is right. Oliver has become a better man but a worse hero and leader. It didn’t click for me until this episode that has been this season’s arch. And what did we expect. It’s not humanly possible to juggle being the mayor, raising a family and commanding a team of vigilantes. Season 2-5 Oliver never would have made so many blatantly bad calls. He never listened to Diggle anymore. Some counter points: This was never about the hood. This was never about Diggle needing to be in charge. This is about Oliver losing connection to what made him the hero in the first place. The people surrounding him and Oliver losing faith in them. I’m not saying everyone else is blameless. I do think Renee, Diggle and Dinah have made some bad decisions but as the leader, you can’t abandon them. Notice every time a character leaves the team this season Oliver has basically just said “Okay bye!” Excluding Renee which he had to be talked into. There is no trying to make things work or make personal changes to help the group. That was it. I’ve talked about the spying thing to death so I won’t bring it up again. I love Oliver. He is my favorite character in the show and all the Arrowverse but I am 100% on Diggle’s side on this one. Personally I think Oliver needs this for his growth as a person and leader. I 100% believe if everyone had kept there mouth shut and kept going, Oliver would have made a decision that got someone killed. In conclusion, I personally liked this episode because I think after the way Oliver has been this season he needed a reality check. It is also a nice change of pace for Oliver to be wrong consistency again. And to point out again. This was never about the suit, this has been about Oliver being a terrible leader.

This might not have been a good idea writing wise, But GOD DAMN the acting in that scene is just incredible

James jackson

I totally agree with your opinion on tokenism of lgbt relationships in tv.

Disney15ish

I read somewhere that the last half of this season had to be rewritten because they couldn't get Michael Emerson (Cayden) to commit for a full season.

Anonymous

the acting in that scene was on point tho, best in the entire show even

Frank Tremel

Well, then I'm glad they couldn't get Emerson for a full seasons because James was boring and Diaz was a way better antagonist.

Disney15ish

Personally I have to disagree. Cayden was a nice change of pace for an Arrow villain. Because unlike other villains, he didn't rely on strength or physical ability, he relied on his mind and had to be out thought instead of out fought in order to be beaten. IMO, Diaz was the more boriing antagonist. I remember back when he first made his apperance early in the season, I completely assumed he was a "villain of the week" thug villain. I don't blame the actor or anything,I just didn't find Diaz threatening at all

MyDanishThoughts

Can't wait for you to be done with season 6. Season 6 was 100% one of the worst seasons of the show.

Couldn’t agreed more. This was my mindset when I watched this episode years ago

It feels to me that you just stan Oliver even when people point out flaws that he has especially in this episode

Wyatt

Well she did say that she is supporting Oliver out of spite for everyone abandoning him

Luis Garcia

Honestly, rewatching the show with these reactions, I think I hate the in-fighting this season more than Felicity in the later parts of season 4. With season 4 at the very least it was just Felicity. In this season several characters are make dumb decisions with dumb reasoning and it's really annoying. Luckily the season is almost over and you can hope the next one is better.

Trevon

I don’t agree at all. The mistakes diggle have made shows me he won’t have been any better of a leader! He trusted his brother which allowed the team to get ambushed. He brought DRUGs from the person responsible for taking over the city. He didn’t tell the team he was INJURED and that could of lead to the entire team getting hurt or killed!!! And again the hold spying thing BOTH sides are completely wrong. Oliver shouldnt of spied and what new team arrow did equally was just as bad!!

Trevon

But does it matter? all of them have flaws that are equally as bad! Why is he getting single out? Oliver is not perfect but neither are they

Wyatt

Was it really that bad tho? Dinah met with a villain one and defended Oliver and ask him to stop trying to contact her. Rene had his daughter threatened and Oliver should empathize with what someone will do if their child is in danger. And Diggle made some bad calls in the past however Diggle funding Diaz isn’t really that big of a deal. A. How was he supposed to know B. When he found out, he shut them down The only real mistake he made this season was withholding the information about his arm and if we are comparing that to everything Oliver has done wrong this season, Diggle is the clear choice. Plus we know that Diggle would have made the right calls in this situation.

Trevon

Yes it is bad. Diggle is excusing Oliver of stressing himself to thin and putting personal feels ahead. Everyone on the team is doing this! Oliver is focused on being a good father. Dinah didn’t tell Oliver that dig was injured or that Vince was back. Curtis is way to concern about his love life right now. You thinking takes illegal drugs from a felon is no big deal!! The money Diaz got from his operations allowed him to start buying off city officials! That’s what diggle was funding! He talks about Oliver almost killing Renee when he was only defending himself. Diggle almost got Renee killed in premiere episode of this season. What has diggle done that makes you so sure he would be a better leader!!. The whole renee thing, I understand he wanted to protect to daughter but you should of come to Oliver with what waston was doing??. Renee wasn’t gonna say anything to the team that’s the problem. This is Oliver’s team and if they don’t like his leadership they should just leave. No Oliver shouldnt beg anyone to say cuz everyone clearly don’t each other and care about their personal live then the mission. That’s why next épisode is really effective. Oliver realizes he need to go back to basic and focus on the mission with no team arrow
