Let me begin this by saying this has nothing to do with your reaction to what happened in this episode. It is me venting over fandom crap that happened after this episode and it wasn't pretty. Sadly. This is an episode that riled up the fandom yet again, over character disagreements. It will surprise no one who knows me that I'm fully on Dean's side. I think the hate that was put on him for how he reacted to what Cas did is unfair. Hypocritical. Cas seems to be put in a bubble that makes him impervious to any responsibility by fans for his actions. Yet if Dean or Sam - Dean especially - do something similar to what Cas did/does, they'd get criticized. That's a pet peeve of mine. Rowena didn't have to die. If only Cas hadn't killed Belphagor. And people have lots of excuses for Cas - but Cas's decision to kill Belphagore was definitely enhanced by his hatred for the demon posessing Jacks body. He hated that so much. So I don't buy that it was purely to keep Belphagore from getting power. The risk comparison was definitely greater with the rift open then Belphagor. They've dealt with entities like Belphagor before. So, the rift didn't close because of Cas. Rowena had to die to close the rift. Because of Cas. So the hating on Dean is really really really unfair. Why does cas get a total pass on acting out of anger and not Dean. Dean is always the bad guy. Just not fair. If people are being honest.

I think the issue is less to do with how Dean was acting and more to do with the fact that there is tension among the main characters. It's the same feeling as when your parents fight. You don't like it, no matter who is right or wrong.

I would like to think that. Unfortunately all I heard and saw in dicussions and social media is a bunch of hating on dean for being mean to poor wittle Cas. This has happened before and I tend not to react to it very well. As you can see!
