Yes Josie acts unlikable in this episode and it's funny you mentioned Kai considering the next episode

Josie has a problem with being over invested in pleasing authority. Which made her very likeable when the authority in question was her father, who actually has a moral compass, and not so much when the authority in question is Rupert Vardemus (YES, his first name is Rupert!), who doesn't.

Well Hayley not having psychological side effects like Rafael makes a bit of sense because as a hybrid being able to change at will she was more accustomed to her wolf form . Where as Rafael who was a werewolf for a year at most was not.
