Tobias wasn’t adopted, he’s black he’s just albino lol

If you're happy to stay in your ignorance about any of these things, you can't ask these kinds of questions. You made it clear that you didn't wanna get political, so you also have to accept what's going on in it. We can't educate you on things you don't wanna know

And Tobias is not white, he's albino

MagnusVD

I like him with his daughter and him repeatedly being impressed "two girls?" :)

I know you want to stay in your bubble but when you continue to bring up the police issue you’ll need to understand that this show is showing the situation from a realistic perspective. In the U.S. majority of cops are in fact white. I think getting upset about the cops being in my opinion is odd. I’m not upset just telling you the truth and my opinion. I’d also point out that Tobias Whale is NOT white or adopted he is albino which means he is black but born with pale skin.

Tony

She can ask all the questions she wants, It doesn't mean they have to be answered. During a recording things come to mind and she'll speak her thoughts. You're basically asking her to shut up. Lets not do that.

This is why we tried to make it clear to you in the beginning that Tobias is Albino. Guess you missed those comments but it’s ok. Tobias isn’t adopted. And he’s not half-black, half-white either. He is an albino which means he was born with a condition that produces far too little melanin that he becomes ridiculously pale. The actor who plays him is also Albino. I know you love your comic canon so I’ll just point out in the comics Tobias is Albino too. So don’t go thinking that the show racebent him to make “white people look bad” :p It’s quite likely since Albinism is kinda rare you’ve probably never encountered an Albino person in your life before. But it’s a real condition and that’s why he’s pale. NOT because he’s half-white, White, or Adopted.

I have a very hard time believing that this show portrays the real world so accurate. Every bad cop on this show so far has been caucasian. I'm well aware that this is an issue in the US and I sympathize with those who suffer from police brutality and other acts of violence. But there is NO way that it's always white cops who commit these kinds of horrible acts as these episodes thus far have suggested. The way this show portrays stereotypes is very off putting. I get that it's trying to show that these things are real issues in the world today. But it's being a bit overly dramatized. Then again, I could be wrong. But I fear the thought that this is a 100% accurate portrayal of the real world. IF this is true than humanity might as well go extinct. Because it's disgusting how we treat eachother.

Man, Lady Eve was talking about Albino's in the last episode, and grinding their bones, and she told Tobias to watch out, if he fails, his bones will be grinded to magic dust too......how can you still not get that he's Albino after that?

I don’t think she knows what Albinism is, or she missed it and the comments we told her before. It’s ok though. It happens I think she’ll get it this time though

Question do all the white people upset that the majority of white actors on this show have been portrayed as bad cops get the same level of upset when most hispanics on breaking bad were portrayed as criminals? in Albuquerque and El Paso were those cities are majority hispanic and 99.999% don't have even a remote connection to cartels.... Never thought about it, you say? guess what? cartels exist....racist cops exist, but why is only one of those being depicted upsetting you?

Jake Hodgson

For what its worth Hector seeing white cops (or any white people in power) being racist assholes make me uncomfortable. It makes me uncomfortable because I know its an unfortunate reality that exists in the world. Do they exaggerate it.. maybe im not sure, most likely but possibly not. As a white male (who is also from Canada) I haven't experienced the same type of life as people who arnt the same as me and don't feel im able to claim what they are saying is happening is false especially nowadays. Ontop of all that CW isn't known for their subtlety, any time they attempt to approach a political or ethical message, even if i find i agree with what they are attempting to say its a little ham fisted.

Shan... did you not realize Tobias was a black albino man? She wouldnt be hurt with that word comming from him.

Shan... do you not realize that Tobias is an albino black man?

I don't think Shan has ever watched Breaking Bad, but had she I believe she would have said something. I believe her when she says she isn't racist. She is too kind. to hate someone or think less of them just because of their nationality or skin color. She doesn't want any races to be depicted as all bad, which is why the depiction of all whites as bad upset her. Not because she is white but because its stereotyping.

David Brown

Shan, Anissa's costume is comic book accurate. And even though they didn't show it, she took parts of the different outfits she bought and did some sewing of her own.

I'd write it as, If you are blatant about an issue, then people will simply REACT to it. However if you can be clever with the writing, using subtlety, metaphore, etc (something fantasy is good at), then this will allow people to analyse / emote and THINK about the issue!

Wyatt

Don’t mind me, I’m just here for the comments

I always love it when shows do homages to old school costumes or comic book accurate costumes in shows. Even if it looks ridiculous translated into live action it feels great to be able to witness comic books come to life.

That is only one example of where a show or movie portrays a specific race as all bad, or all ignorant. It is just as bad to portray all black people as less or ignorant or stupid as it is to portray all black people as criminals. This applies to all other non-white races. But we are just supposed to sit back and enjoy the entertainment and not be offended by people who look like us being portrayed this way. But on the very few occasions where a show or movie portrays white people in a non heroic way, that is when people have a problem.
