This was the first episode of the Arrowverse that I ever saw live and... honestly, I have never been so pissed at a premiere ever. I understand not killing a lot of main characters. I even understand not killing 3 or 4 main characters because it’s the CW. BUT NO ONE??? Only a character who has been in 3 or 4 episodes?! Ik Thea is in a coma or whatever but I thought there is no way they kill her or otherwise why not just kill her on the island if you are just gonna kill her later? Honestly I am still mad about it years later but I always remember that what they did this episode shouldn’t cheapen how amazing last season’s finale was.

The writers said in interviews that the reason they didn't kill anyone is because they felt that there were more interesting story possibilities with characters dealing with the fallout of the event in different ways.

The problem with that is without anyone dying, the fallout means less because there was no emotional consequences

I definitely agree that the season 5 finale is one of the best cliffhangers in the Arrowverse, yet the season 6 premiere was disappoint in the fact that none of the main characters died.
