I'm guessing Ketch did feel bad about what he did for the Men of Letters but kept towing the company line and is now trying to make his form of amends

Good question about Asmo - I don't know. Maybe he just wanted a vacation Apocolypse World Michael is a dick. Interesting how things turned out. Comparisons can be made, but I wonder what else was different between the worlds. AU (Alternate Universe) Michael isn't Dean, and isn't Jake. So that's a big difference. Were Sam and Dean not in that universe? I do like seeing Lucifer messed with though. Getting what he deserves finally. It was pretty stupid for Asmo to be interrogating a human and not just posessing him! What's up with this writer - I know who the writer(writing team) is, so that basically answers my question. And the director should have known better too, but I really like this director, so I'll give him a pass. I don't understand why Ketch is back either. Sometimes the producers or lead writer's just can't let go of a character. Especially if they are a "good" bad character. Like Lucifer. And now, I guess, Ketch. There are actually quite a few fans who really like the Ketch character and what he brought to the game. I never liked him though and didn't like seeing him come back. The writer's for this episode are basiccally part of the lead production team now, but I often have issues with what they do. Because they do things like this, and everything you said after the episode is exactly why I don't care for them very much. I like the idea of angels going extinct. They're dicks, plus they basically are the ones responsible for their declining numbers, not anyone else. They can't seem to do anything but kill each other.

Well they already said at the end of last season when they met earth 2 Bobby that it was a world where Sam and Dean were never born so that isn't a surprise or a spoiler it was stated outright already. There may be some stuff for why that is that could be spoilers not sure when they reveal it but 2 and 2 can kinda be put together to figure out why based on the earth1 past events.

I'd forgotten about Sam and Dean not being in AU. Mostly I was trying to show that it shouldn't have been that big a surprise to see another Kevin, who's a prophet.

They mentioned several times in season 12 that Ketch is a psychopath. That's not a good guy and a psychopath doesn't change their minds to become a good guy...they can't become good guys. I get the feeling that the writers simply have no real clue what a psychopath really is...just like most people I guess. If you were born a psychopath then you are a psychopath for life because your brain formed differently so that the section of the brain that does emotions is just not formed...so no compassion, no fear, no love, no shame, no guilt, no remorse. But if you suffer a brain injury that damages that part of the brain you can recover from being one if the damage gets repaired
